Disappointing result, felt like we lost it more than they won it but you get that sometimes.
Took a bit to get going but in the end it was too late, and our lack of composure cost us big time.
Great to have the Pou back and hopefully he gets a good run at it from here.

Time to stop holding the funeral style stuff before the game. We lose these games way too often, no wonder when the pre-game stuff is such a downer.

Sick and tired of this club bottling every single "marquee" game we get.

Player X should be in the VFL next week, doesn't deserve his spot. hopefully Higgins is back next week, was great to see Philipou out there.

Byrnes and Wilson had the same AFL Fantasy points 99. But Byrnes had 91% disposal efficiency and Wilson had 71.
Don't know who that says more about. ( Byrnes has had his issues in the past ).

We were never going to win that with brute strength, and unfortunately, we weren't good enough in our delivery.

Not sure actually. We've lost plenty in a worse way, but we had so many chances to win today and threw every single one away. We've definitely been more pathetic as a team in terms of ability, but the execution today was lamentably poor from a group that should be and have been much better.

We are still a team in flux and it's not about injuries or umpires or ground sizes or grass moisture, it's about readiness and aggression. This is a lesson to the younger players about composure and backing up efforts.

Lack of composure and skill really hurt. Loss feels worse than the smashings we’ve had.

We need a few boys to adopt the big Pou energy and have a bit of take the game by the balls attitude.

Marshall came good, he’s a bit like an old steam train, takes a while to get going. Was great after half time around the ground.

Problem is we have a couple down on form.
We have others who are scared of trying too much and making a mistake.
We have others that aren't 100% fit.
We should have been running over the top of them and instead we allowed them to do to us what we did to Freo

Lacked courage to run into space when it counted late. Our ball carrier never seemed to have too many options. We had plenty of opportunities. They should be disappointed.

Our own worst enemy going forward be it through basic skill errors, poor decision making and poor passing. Not sure why we were passing to guys wide on the boundary line. Even if they mark it, the set shot isnt going to be easy.

How many frees did Dougal give away. Wilkie tightened up well on Curnow. Too many poor kicks from our quality players like Nas and Sincs...and Steele go for goal man with 2 mins left.

Absolutely frustrating to watch.

I thought the skipper stepped up when the game need him to, has been ridden hard this years so deserves his flowers. As does Darcy Wilson. Never going to be an elite user, but he had his best game of the year tonight.

What a wasted opportunity.

Some poor efforts tonight, Brad Hill had a stinker. One instance in the last when his opponent is streaming forward inside 50 and Hill is jogging 20m behind him, thats worse than any time he butchered the footy.

Good to see Pou back.

Our structure isn't right, we're desperate for some height inside 50. I think we need to persist with Keeler. Let Hammer be the mobile forward who pushes up on the wings and Keeler stays at home.

Ah was looking at the rollover and writing, oh well.

Yeah that was a let down match, they were not switched on at all as no one was working for each other and there were just more spot fires like Pou who tried and no one went with, so isolation yay? This was a failure of the leaders, as they just couldn't and didn't so everyone just existed and the Blues had all the means to win the match, as they did.

Gotta say kind of expected really, almost every time we seek to state that we demand, we deserve, we can, we have moments like these where they just don't and refuse to do anything different so that we stay right where we are and who cares right?

This was one of those, beast mode v Freo, follow up v Blues, get on a run in a significant Friday night match at the G, nope, more of the same "let them demand a win, we're tired". Lost the game mentally.
