Round 9 trades

My concern is if Dougal Howard does come in he's going to play far less game time in the ruck and he'll go back to cactus scores.
yeah thats what im saying i did it with darcy parish when he scored 97 and 102 in first two games and brought him in for round 3 and didn't get higher then 65....josh smith i brought him after he scored great in first two then 61 in the next two games and i have a bad feeling trengrove will join this club along with fantasia/sam gray that they exceeded expectations then get brought back to earth but hope i'm wrong with trengrove as i need to upgrade my midfield badly as out of everyone is probably the worst in top 1000 to 5000

Think i have to prioritize Mcrouch and Papley.

Trengove is tempting but he will be around 280k now and both times he has been killed in the ruck and Port have lost. If Hinkley could guarantee Trengove would ruck for the next 8 weeks it would be worth the trade. Cant bring myself to do it despite 2 nice scores back to back.

Looking for value ? These guys are on my radar. Can't have them all, but I've got my eye on:

Bont - Great price
Montanga - Lowest he'll be all year; certain top 6 FWD.
Pendlebury - Take the 50K discount, his consistency, and run!

Coming soon ...

R.Gray - He's going to go sub 500K with his BE for 146. Can't wait to pounce in a couple weeks.
S.Mitchell - I'd like him in my mid-field and can't wait to go shopping next week when he's 550K.

with Port losing to the Blues... will they bring in a ruckman? and end the small ruck experiment...this is my concern and then watch him head back into defense and stink it up...
Exactly what I was thinking.

If he's named as a sole ruckman I'll bring him in.

take the points on offer while they are there...eh?

next assignment for him will be NicNat... poor bastard
then Maxy Gawn... and Grundy then Campbell...

Permabenching Byrne (probably not), swapping Menadue back to the bench for Wells. Downgrading him, upgrading Marcus Adams on my pine to a premo defender and then subbing him on for Byrne. Had Docherty in for him last week before the carnage hit, absolutely spewing.

It's a jump for both cash and points, something Mills isn't giving me either of them. Even if he does go back down back a week or two after I trade him in I'm not going to lose any extra points on Mills. My concern is now that he's hardly a downgrade target. Going Mills -> Trengove probably won't even net me 30k. Is he now to expensive to warrant the risk?

He did really well against Martin last week, I think opposition clubs rate their ruckman far higher than him so their rucks are instructed to go and beat him around the ground but he's getting them back the other way.

since i have multiple players with week 13 byes my strategy this week is to increase my week 14 and 15 bye players and going with menadue/kerridge for hopper and bartell but could double downgrade depending on rhys mathieson if he makes his debut from the beams knee injury..i've got houli and wells to come back this week so hopefully my upward trend continues and see if i could make it to top 500 next round

ken seemed happy with him..so reckon he might get another crack at it! doesn't sound like they have an available alternative either?

My first trades (which just about guarantees they won't be how I go haha) but I've got:

Callum Mills -> Jackson Trengove
Nick Kommer -> Jacob Hopper

Not really trades that improve my overall scoring ability but I'd hope they'll really help me make some coinage and help my team in the long run.

Ah, probably gonna get Hopper as well.
Out: McCarthy Mills
In: Montagna Hopper

Probably will change though, but Hopper seems like he'll be a good choice and will go up a bit.
Will downgrade someone like McGovern the next week and hopefully I can either afford to upgrade someone in the midfield or might have to do another double downgrade.
Only got 11k now.

Pretty sure he got reported in the SANFL for kicking. Even if thrown out, port's rucks will be seriously up against it this week with Naitanui & Lycett in good form.

Changed again. Getting pretty inventive this week.

All about the double downgrade this week and getting the maximum amount of cash ready for next week, as I'm broke, literally - got 4k spare from last round after getting Riewoldt

Gone about it in a pretty unorthodox style, which ended in me bring a non-playing Tom Read to sit at r4

Main focal points for this week

  • Maintain DPP link between Mid/Fwd
  • Create DPP link between Ruc/Fwd for bye flexibility
  • Create maximum cash for upgrades in the next two weeks
  • Make use of Cox - have Currie as ruck cover already
  • Get a balanced line-up for byes as there a little out of sync down back and up forward

Fantasia > Trengove
Mills > Tom Read - cheapest Ruc/Fwd that suits bye structure

Then next week I can cull Wagner > Kade Simpson and maybe finally downgrade mccarthy or upgrade Kerridge if he posts another 60.

At least that's the plan. Let's see how injuries stuff this up.

These trades are so MEH but...

Clay Cameron -> Bailey Williams
Clayton Oliver -> Hopper

Leaving me with 200k in the kitty.

Kinda hoping I pick the right rookies that have peaked considering the large amount of them to pick from to do these trades... would swap the Bailey Williams option if there's any interesting first timers next w/e.

My team is beyond terrible though... still holding Wells, Ablett, Barlow, Brodie Smith, Weitering, Kerridge, Zac Smith,

and I can never justify removing my DPP M/F link via Hewett yet. But next week I'm seriously hoping I can roll him and McGovern out for a premo and another rookie. At least I shouldn't have to play either on the field. Gonna back in Wagner & Byrne to have decent scores next week.

Also Kommer has been spudding up my F8 slot earning me nothing for a while now....

I also am too stubborn to be interested in the statistically good picks in Shaw, Boyd and Montagna, and am still annoyed about choosing to bring in Rockliff over Zorko when both were 500k-ish.

My M7 targets for the following week are probably either: Macrae or Sidebum.

This is going to be a difficult one and I'll probably have to wait till Thursday. Will I have to trade out Barlow? I was about to but due to Houli's late omission I had to leave him on the bench and shore up other areas. If the Dockers call him back he may get another go from me but he is worth $499K, a good sum that could get me a form forward. I had to do with 21 players as Clay Cameron was injured, he is worth $269K.
If I bring in Tim Mohr for $134K then that gives me $166K and if I trade Barlow I could get a premium forward.

Hopefully Daniel Wells will be better next week and then I can bring him off the bench and with the downgrade to Tim Mohr could get Zach Merrett into my forward line. This would also mean I could return Tom Papley to the bench instead of having to keep him on the field, where he has done OK some times but has also returned some very low scores.
