Stanton is no longer serving a purpose with Palmer consistently outscoring him on my bench. Palmer will now be my sixth mid. prolly go:

Stanton > Cotchin
Rioli > Pav/ O'Keefe or N. Stevens > Some gun.

Essendon are playing Richmond though so i may hold off....all depends on the b/e's

Quite right. Palmer's a wee gem, isn't he? I dropped Stants for Browne this week to make some cash- willing to be burned a little. OK, so I lose 20 points, but I've gained a tick under $400k for that, and that $400K will assist in getting me Stiffy, Bartel and probably Buddy or The Rock in the next two weeks. So thanks for the help Brent (although had I done what I thought about 4 or 5 rounds ago I would have swapped you for GAblett, but let's not cry over spilt milk...:o)

i have 8 trades left:eek:! i have kennely injured and no emergency. do i
a) keep kennely if he will play in the last 8 rounds or
b) upgrade him to mcleod/stiffy/bock or
c) upgrade s king to cox instead!

i am 4 wins and 1 loss so probably make the finals if that makes any difference!

thx in advance

At this stage, I'm thinking Boak to Cotchin, with Palmer going so well. Allows me to upgrade Thompson to ROK, Stevens to a gun mid.

Defenders: Johncock, P.Burgoyne, Mattner, Goddard, Birchall, Shaw, Ibbotson (Proud, Edwards)

Midfielders: C.Cornes (Yes, I know), K.Cornes, Murphy, Stevens, Priddis, Palmer (Boak, Browne)

Forwards: Brown, Pavlich, Porplyzia, Franklin, Thomas, Rioli, Gamble (Thompson, Tippett)

Rucks: Cox, Simmonds (Tippett, Renouf)

I'm looking at two trade options this week and I need your help to convince me on one.

1. I trade Gamble to Valenti and then trade Rioli to any forward but most likely Franklin or Chapman.

2. I trade Gamble to Valenti and then trade Stevens for any midfielder but most likely Bartel.

My Forwards and Midfield consists of:

F: Richardson, Burton, Porplyzia, Rioli, B. Johnson, S. Johnson & Pavlich
M: Ablett, Judd, Salopek, Hayes, Stevens & Palmer

So who should I bring in?

My team for the next round, unless someone gets injured this week, will be:

Backs:
Johncock, Shaw, Waite, Bradshaw, Milburn, Gilbee, Myers, Taylor (E)

Mids:
Judd (C), Goodes, Hayes, Cooney, Gibbs, Stanton, Lonergan (E)

Rucks:
Cox, Kreuzer

Forwards:
Franklin, Burton, Brown, Pavlich, Deledio, Chapman, Rioli, Gamble (E)

With a team like that I think the only other upgrades I should need to do this year are Kreuzer to Sandilands/Jolley and Gibbs to a gun midfielder.

Anyone think there are other weaknesses I might need to address?

This week: OUT- Bird
IN-Cotchin/Myers

Next Week: OUT- Tippett, Wona
IN- Valenti, Mcleod/Milburn/Drummond

Therefore in two weeks time, my backline should look like this:
Chad Cornes,Shaw,Johncock,Gilbee,P.Burgoyne,Sam Fisher, [Mcleod/Milburn/Drummond]

is any1 think out taylor in myers? then i'll trade s king to cox! that'll leave me with 6 trades left and no trades to be done- except downgrade browne and tippitt

Depends on a few things (Kennelly's Knee - sound like a nice name for some sort of dodgy knee syndrome) and which other of my dodgy backline get selected - Waters/Nicoski (crabs). So ...one of those 3 out...Myers In. Then...depending on how much cash that gives me...one of Rioli/Thompson out - Chapman In. Playing the top team in my league this week too, darn your dodgy knees Kennelly!

Good news is Tippett/McKinley/Houli can wait another week and I play a crappy team the week after so I do Houli > Cotchin and McKinley/Tippett > Davis/Valenti the next week. Can anyone say CAAAASSSSHHH?????

Or maybe the forward line one can wait...depends on who is coming through...want to squeeze Bartel in next week.

everyone's getting Cotchin huh, I have had him earmarked all year also but down at Tigerland the poor kid is already after 1 game our second best mid after Foley, he'll be playing on some very good players and I just think Valenti at a cheaper price could get similar scores, thoughts (talking supercoach scoring of course cos Cotch WILL rule this league in a year or two)

He's going to be on my bench, so I don't really care if he tears it up completely. (Although that'd be nice if I'm forced to use him). Valenti may be put back on the rookie list. That said, I'll probably grab both of them!

That may be, but once Grimes comes back in a couple of weeks Valenti is probably going to be forced out (unless the Dees find another long term injury candidate...)

Never an ideal week for a player to be injured , but would have been better if Kenelly held off a week

With McLeod, Shaw and a couple others on the way down, would have been the perfect swap without costing you much in an upgrade.

I might try and hold off (depending on how many Kenelly will miss and if CORNES is back or not)

Who should I trade out of Bradshaw and Symes? Leaning towards Bradshaw because of his BE. Thoughts?

Who should I trade out of Bradshaw and Symes? Leaning towards Bradshaw because of his BE. Thoughts?

Of those 2 I'd trade Symes. I'm not sold on him to be honest. He's only had 2 games over 100 and has trouble staying on the park. According to FanFooty his games tally over the years is as follows:

2004 - 1
2006 - 12
2007 - 6
2008 - 6

I like to pick players that have played 20+ games for the year over the last couple of years at least. Bradshaw prior to last year's injury played 20,19,19,22 from 2003-2006, so he is pretty good in that regard.

Also Bradshaw is averaging 92 odd this year, which is exactly the same as what he averaged from 22 games in 2006. He will have some ups and downs but if over the season he can average 92, its not too bad considering the relative poor form of the backs this year.

I'm keeping him for now, but will monitor his progress as the season progresses. If you were set on selling him though, you are right about his b/e, this is the week to do it. Actually last week or the week before would have been better, but I don't own a delorium.

Anyone got any thoughts on whether I should get Newman or Goddard....

I have Goddard (picked him up 3-4 weeks ago and now thinking I paid too much). Am strongly considering Newman this week (for Kenelly). If I had to pick out the two based on form over the past couple of weeks i would go Newman, but Goddard has been good over the years. Tough call ... Go Goddard

He is not our 2nd best midfielder. Cothin appears as if he will play some time forward and some in middle. He will not be in the guts for a full game and will not attract a tag this year. Foley will always get the tag and then with Lids and Browny rotating though the middle, i'm sure more focus will go on them. Cothin is a must purely becaue he will play every game for the rest of the year (barring injury), especialyl over valenti, who as every points out may get demoted.

I'm getting off Bradshaw this week. You can trade him for Mackie and make 40K out of the deal, which I think is a great result because will likely average similar amounts but Mackie is far more consistent.

If kennely is out more than 2 weeks,

Kennely to Myers
McKinley to Franklin

Then maybe wone and tippet out for cotchin and valenti/davis (playing bottom team so i can trade for cash)

Then hopefully the following week get two guns.
Steves/palmer for Judd/Bartel/Corey

I might then try and save cash to upgrade one of my backline bench players Proud/Hansen hopefully hansen(useless) leaving myers or ibbo on the bench as handy reserves. hmmm i love the planning.

I have this on my mind.....

Palmer --> Cotchin (would give me $397,900)

Then....

Nathan Thompson/Tippett/McKinley (probably thompson) --> O'Keefe (Would leave me with around 130,000 - 140,000)

Then next week..

Nick Stevens --> Joel Corey

What's everyone think?????

Would make my midfield - Ablett, Judd, Cooney, Black, Marc Murphy, Joel Corey (Cotchin, Browne)

and my forward line - Chapman, Brown, Porplyzia, Riewoldt, Rioli, O'Keefe, McKinley (Tippett, Addam Maric)

Trading Palmer while he's going so well will be hard to do, but I think the end result would be worth it. Do you agree?

It does look like a good team after the trades but I would find it difficult trading Palmer as he still has a break even of -4 plus he's become a fairly consistent performer. He'll probably be the last player I trade out if I choose to.

What do people think of a straight swap of Nick Stevens for Chapman. I was coming up with an elaborate plan to get a gun forward and gun midfielder and was agonizing over Chapman and Franklin in the forward line but then realised I could do a straight swap in the midfield. Would it be worth having Chappy in the midfieldover someone like Cooney or Dal.

Yeah your right, and I've found an easy solution.... This week I'll trade Stevens to Cotchin and Thompson/McKinley/Tippett to O'Keefe, as planned... Then next week I'll upgrade Woneamirri to most likely Heath Shaw...

That'll leave me pretty happy with my team, but with not as many trades left as I would have liked. If I go through with these 3 trades in the next 2 weeks my team will look like this:

BACKS:
McLeod, Bock, P. Burgoyne, Gilbee, Goddard, Harry Taylor, Heath Shaw (Collingwood's Nathan Brown, Pfeiffer)

MIDS:
Ablett, Judd, Cooney, Black, Marc Murphy, Palmer (Cotchin, Browne)

RUCKS:
Cox, Simmonds (Kreuzer, Hampson)

FWDS:
O'Keefe, Chapman, Riewoldt, Brown, Porplyzia, Rioli, McKinley (Tippett, addam Maric)

Starting to look the goods I feel
