Which player do you think can influence games more? I don't think it's a stretch to say that a Coleman Medalist key forward has 3x the influence as a good ruck. Maybe a lot more than that

The reality is that you wanted to trade three first round draft picks for Curnow and now turn around after being rejected and try to offer the same pittance you did the first time. If I were Marshall I would feel deflated that the Cats don't rate me that highly and might just stay at the Saints.

Well, you can't really take any recruiter at their word but Mackie seemed pretty honest when he said that the Saints didn't really give any kind of clear direction on what they would accept. So he kind of made his offer then got a phone call later saying no. He just said they'll keep pursuing discussions.

Pretty sad when people care more about Geelong failing than they do their own team succeeding.

I assume Cats are chasing him because they believe him to be a player that helps complete their team and maybe makes the difference between another losing GF and a premiership. More important to them than Curnow? If they are not putting any other players up for trade, its a clear indication that he feel they have all of the other pieces already.
Another premiership before Scott and Dangerfield step down sounds pretty good. I know youre not as desperate for premierships as we are at St Kilda, but surely they're worth splashing out a little on, no?
Mackie is really going to be the guy that turns a premiership down because he's too much of a tightarse to give us a future FRDP?

Keeping Rowan is St. Kilda succeeding. We rate Roma and he’s happy to stay. That’s what Geelong fail to understand and will need to pay overs to get him out.
Geelong failing in this scenario and the Curnow trade failing too is just a bonus.

Marshall is only 15 months older than Curnow, and Geelong decided to only offer the worst pick out of 3 they are now offering for Curnow.
