This album is just to good to comprehend.
That is all.

word.
my fav song of it is prob editions of you though.
shit is wild! great groove. and that wild sax/synth freakout!

the whole thing is just on the ball though.
love it how it starts of upbeat and poppy/fun time party music.. then it just gets into the weirdness in the second half.
so well constructed. so well played.

Great song, great band.

Eno was a large part of the attraction for me.

So are you only a fan of their earlier more experimental music, or do you like their later more radio friendly music as well. They can be a band that divides.

Love the early more experimental music, but respect the sexier sounds of the latter Roxy also.

Sort of like Genesis for me. Just didn't get into it as much post Gabriel, but appreciated the new sound nevertheless.

Every album has been re-released in a box set with all the remasters etc. Worth getting perhaps, only a fan of the first two albums (and a big fan), some of Eno's best work.

but what about country life?
i always thought that was the most hailed/ go to roxy album..

sounds pretty great to me to!
i look forward to checking it all out eventually.

I bought the box set about 2/3 months ago. It's definately worth getting, especially if you are a fan of both the Ferry/Eno and Ferry crooning era's. The 2 CD set of b-sides and alternate mixes is especially good, it has some wonderful versions I'd never heard before.

Same.

He made it possible for me to enjoy U2,as long as I could convince myself that wasn't Bono singing.

Love his post-Roxy, pre-ambient albums... Warm Jets, Tiger Mountain, Before and After Science, etc

gave the debut a whirl.
On first listen it's pretty good stuff. Not as cohesive or as dark as for your pleasure though.
still, some cracking tracks on there.

i guess stranded is next in line for me..

watched this last night. great stuff
but how the hell does bono manage to get his mug on every music doco every recordedo_O

eno's fav roxy lp is stranded

Best Bass Sound to grace an album.

I don't know why some people hate on later period roxy
Of course it's not as wild and genre bending..but its classy stuff.
Just Gorgeous laid back funk grooves.

as some clever cookie stated on their lastfm page

"Manifesto" is the missing link between mid 70s glam rock and late 70s beginning of the new wave / new romantic era.

It's a great call.
