Don't seem to get much attention on the board but am wondering what everyone thinks of our assistant coaches.

I know Royal is well regarded although he has been overlooked for senior coaching positions whilst King comes across as a top bloke and was an awesome footballer am wondering if they have the goods day to day.

I know Royal is well regarded, but wasn't he brought over to work on our disposal skills? If so, either his methods aren't working, or the players aren't listening/responding because our disposal is piss poor, at best.

Not too sure about King. Was a pretty good player, but that doesn't always translate into being a good coach.

I've always wondered who actually regards Royal so highly.
Have to agree that as a skills coach his contribution would have to be questioned. Is he also in charge of the mid-field?
As Cogga suggested a few months ago, what about Paul Broderick?

some fresh faces would be nice esp in the midfield department

broda would be great, his skills 1st class

Raochy, I was just basing that on what I read in the papers, that he is well regarded as a skills coach. Not sure if he's in charge of the midfield or not, but I agree that Broderick may not be a bad inclusion. But I'm not convinced about bringing Richmond guys back who played in what was a fairly mediocre team for so long. Not doubting his skill at all, he was a champ. Put it this way, I can see the pros ands the cons of having former players (90's era) coaching us in any capacity.

My personal view is that we should've gone after Vossy when he said he wasn't ready to be a senior coach yet. Put him in as an assistant, someone who was not only tough, but as smart a midfielder as there's ever been. He's got a bit of mongrel about him too which I think we lack greatly. Again, just my thoughts.
