Dan Houston sure has come a long way since the days when he was deliberately handballing to team mates feet.

Congratulation to all the 2023 All Australian squad.

Toby Green's head looked like it has been pasted on the pic. Looks a bit too big and makes him look like one of his bobble-head figures!

Dan Houston is yet another to make All Australian from a Rookie List. We took Dan with pick#45 in the 2015 Rookie Draft. Names like Gray, Brogan, Westhoff and now Houston prove that a player does not have to be a first round pick to turn into a gun.

Youngest team in the finals

Round 24 Game Age

1. Collingwood — 28y 28d (#1)
2. Brisbane — 26y 16d (#3)
3. Port — 25y 124d (#8)
4. Melbourne — 25y 322d (#4)
5. Carlton — 25y 213d (#7)
6. St Kilda — 25y 227d (#6)
7. GWS — 26y 97d (#2)
8. Sydney — 25y 303d (#5)

I’m not sure how much this matters given a lot hinges on Dixon (32), Lycett (30) and McKenzie (31) being in a position to replace Lord (21), Hayes (24) and Williams (22).

But it’s certainly consistent with past messaging.

They just love kicking the expectation can down the road don't they?

Lol imagine replacing Williams instead of Jonas with McKenzie

But it's totally something we'd do.

The only one of those changes that could make us better is Dixon for Lord, and that's very arguable with Dixon hobbling around and very little future in the game, vs the potential rewards of getting games into lord.

Absolutely.

If I was in charge, what with having coached Port to the same number of Grand Finals on my resume, I’d have had at least an extra 20 games into Hayes (or gotten rid of him for a foray into the market), and Williams would be locked and loaded alongside Aliir and McKenzie in a heartbeat.

But yeah, if Jonas/Lycett/Dixon are remotely fit it’d be a shock if they weren’t playing for ‘tactical’ reasons.

Youngest team from the little blue-collar club. Making excuses for failure since 2012.
