State of Origin 2 was officially sold out at 5pm yesterday, and ended up with a crowd of 82,259, making it the third highest Origin crowd at ANZ since 2003.

On Television the game rated 1.046m in Sydney, 330,000 in Melbourne, 762,000 in brisbane, 102,000 in Adelaide and 139,000 in Perth. A further 1.103 million watched in the regional areas. The match reached a peak of 4.013 million.

This ranks game 2 the 17th highest rated Origin and the sixth highest rated game 2, since 2003. Ratings were 64,000 lower than 2016’s Game 2, a drop of around 1.2% on overnight preliminary ratings. The game finished behind game 1, 2017 in total ratings.

Some really good crowds this round.

Auckland was good considering the British and Irish Lions were playing on the Saturday night. Glad there wasn't a clash on the Saturday. Friday worked well here.

Campbelltown was disappointing.

Townsville was great, Saturday arvo seemed like a winner. Maybe schedule one Sat arvo in Townsville each season.

Canberra was good.

Adelaide was amazing. It looked good on TV. Would love to see a game there is each year.

Kogarah was ok, would have liked to see another 3 or 4k through the gates. Not sure if having two games in Sydney that are pretty much geographically next door to each other is the way to go.

Cronulla was pretty good, look full on TV.

Some really great crowds this round.

Thursday night was pretty good considering it was Thursday. Would have liked the return game later in the year to be a Saturday or Sunday game, not another Thursday night.

Early Friday night again pretty good, could have been better if it wasnt up against a blockbuster up at Suncorp. Also really get behind the advertising for this game, cheap tickets, etc. It was school holidays in Queensland.

Late Friday night. BRILLANT! these two teams must play each other twice a year.

Saturday at Gosford also Brillant. Sold out. Next season Gosford has to have 2 games.

Cant do much with it pouring down in Perth. Only thing I thought was weird here was the Warriors playing at the same time as the All Blacks vs Lions.

Solid crowd for Canberra on Saturday night. Again cant help the weather, but you do know it will be cold. I have always thought after Queens Bday long weekend games in Canberra should be day games or at least daylight time kick off.

Newcastle was a great crowd. Well done to the knights.

Sunday 4pm was good, would have been nice for a couple thousand more through the gate but Souths have been average this year.

Hopefully some strong crowds for the 4 games this weekend.
