Rumour - Dave Misson to Melbourne

Not kicking the Saints here, but this is why youre better off getting the ball moving early when it comes to coaching changes. If you leave it too late to get organised, you'll only have the left overs to make a team out of.

lol eat shit St Kilda

Now that is not called for. We've been down and kicked long enough as a club and know what the pain feels like when we all realise that it's gonna get worse before it gets better. Shame on you for digging the boots in when they are down and are bleeding profusely. How were they to know that their coach was an evil conniving pr!@k?

As far as i'm concerned such behaviour is only warranted against Colling#@$%, the bummers, Carltank, the Dorks and pretty soon the GW$cully's.

This from the HS's Buzz column:

FITNESS COUP

Huge get by the Demons to recruit former Sydney and St Kilda fitness guru Dave Misson.

It is a sign the club is finally getting aggressive in its attempt to build an elite football department.

A few years back the Demons either wouldn’t have had the money, or Misson wouldn’t have wanted to go there.

Misson originally came to St Kilda when his wife Catherine was appointed head of Melbourne Girls Grammar.

Now after four years there he has moved on and will do great things with the Demons list.

Loving this!:thumbsu:

Yeah, he just moved to your club according to The Age piece today.

As a club, our fitness hasn't been a big problem as far as running games out, but our size has. As a young list, that's to be expected though. I don't think we've had too many complaints as far as fitness goes, and soft tissue injuries haven't been a big problem either. I guess the less you notice with these sort of guys, the better it is.

To an extent.

We can run out 4 quarters against some of the softer sides but against the good sides we don't chase enough or work to space enough. We have some lazy culprits but we need to go up a level in fitness and conditioning.

Our size/strength is definitely a more pressing issue though.

Apparently Misson's on $300k/year according to AW
Also Aints not happy

You snooze, you lose. Thank Jimmy it was somebody else's club that was asleep at the wheel this time and not us.

Aside from what these appointments can bring - which is pretty exciting in itself - it's great to see that the club is attracting and retaining quality people who want to be a part of what were are doing. Sure that traitorous dog Scummy left - but money talks and bullshit walks and in his case both applied - but the rest of the list happily signed up, the admin have been kicking goals money and facility wise, the supporters are doing their bit with memberships and the like, and we are pinching wanted coaching staff from under the noses of other clubs. I reckon that we'll land the target/s we chase in trade week too, which will be icing.

excellent coup for your club.

whilst i've got a general working idea of fitness programs and what not, i'm a novice when it comes to the nitty gritty of it all... but the fact reminas pretty much every club, team or organisation he has gone and worked for they have had success and an extremely good run of injuries. and in the days of drafts and salary caps keeping your best players on the park is a major factor in determining success.

This is a great get for the Demons... we are starting to get professional. Hell must have frozen over. :D

Also theres a video interview with Misson at the MFC website.

And G€, since neither of those two franchises belong in the AFL, of course.

And more joining the ranks .... following Misson's appointment. Don't know much about the Jackson but appears part of Misson's team ... sounds positive

"The exodus of staff from the club's football department continued yesterday, when it was revealed Robert Jackson, second in charge to departed elite performance manager David Misson, had followed Misson in defecting to Melbourne."

And we did too. I'm not expecting miracles but we are not going to die wondering under this new team.

Misson must be licking his lips at all this taent at his disposal.

This Demon list is 10 times more talented than the St Kilda teams that made a Grand Final.

Oh yeah because the best key forward in the game in 2009-2010 in Riewoldt and elite AA mids in Hayes, Dal Santo, Goddard, Ball, Montagna, not to mention defenders like Sam Fisher and Gram are clearly inferior to our battling midfield and the all powerful Mitch Clark at CHF.

We've got a lot to work to do, but all of a sudden we look like having a spine to build on. Plus we've got a young key forward in Cook and young key defenders in McDonald and Davis to back them up.

However we are still missing top line midfielders. The more the merrier, but 2 would be a minimum. That's why we went after O'Meara, because Viney and him would really have a nice midfield coming through. But we missed him so we move on and get Clark. Two compo picks next year to secure a top quality mid.
