He will be a small voice at this stage, but the man is completely out of his depth. Brawshaw is doing a better job when you take into account the available resources.

Thanks for the info Shmurf.:thumbsu:
Good to see some people actually use this thread as interesting rumours rather than constantly taking the mickey out of things.

Don't short change the influence that Pratt had on all those negotiation. Mars was very much in the frame prior to Dick's death. Other than finalising the deal with Mars, Swann has been pretty slack.

That's a really poor effort by Greg Swann.
Sounds like he has just taken the money we're paying him, and sitting on his backside with his feet up on his desk.

As for Sticks, i'm actually surprised he has lasted this long. IIRC, he was just an interim president after Mr. Pratt passed away.

I'd imagine the dynamics of the club would change considerably if and when Kernahan and Swann vacate their current posts.

Look Swann is is a smart operator, but he has had the influences and backing of both Pratt and McGuire. Too hugely respected men and men that people listen/listened to and wanted to be involved with. I guess where Cook stands alone is based on his ethos of not having things handed to him on a platter.

As i mentioned before, if Cook is not available Swann stays, but he knows he will no longer be allowed to flow through the motions.

So the board have told him to full his finger out?

Amazing how the wheel can turn.
It wasn't that long ago we had our off-field situation in hand, and needed some dramatic improvement on-field. Now it appears the wheel has turned.

I must say, to see less than 42,000 members signed up in 2011 is pretty disappointing. We'd want to rectify this for next year.

Hey MS3, and truth to the rumour we looking to move out of Etihad and get to the MCG?

Been trying for the best part of 2 years. We have lost in the millions now because of the Etihad arrangement. We are still contracted the them until 2014. We will be out that door at 12:00:01 that very day the contract expires.

Thanks Collo, a real Carlton man that one.
He is the definition of toxic, literally reaming his 'own' club out of what he knew would be millions in order to advance his personal ambitions. Telstra Dome better enjoy the next three and a half years because they can expect nothing from us after that.

Funnily enough, although screwing us over - particularly across 2009-2014 - will reap many rewards for them, we're only going to get bigger, better and draw more crowds after that. They should have made it 15 or 20 years  :thumbsu:

I really like our mix of games.

The dome is a much better venue for playing from June to the end of July nice and warm and perfect conditions.

If we can get a better financial deal it is the perfect balance.

At the time the deal was signed Etihad seemed like the way to go. Seems we've outgrown it as well, bring on the G.
The G was always the way to go, but the AFL wouldn't pay out the Princes Park contract if we chose to play our games there.

They wanted us at Etihad.

I'd be surprised if Mike Fitzpatrick Didn't examine both options carefully, out of respect for his old club. I personally think the grounds been a good fit for us, excluding profit margin, wouldn't have thought playing Brisbane, Fremantle, port, W.C, Sydney, Adelaide and G.C at the MCG is that great an idea. I guess we'll find out in a few years.

Damn. I like Sticks:( Will he stick around the club or go off to other things? He sure seems an extremely passionate Carlton man.
Passionate of course but a Pres needs to be hands on and comfortable wheeling and dealing with the top end of town. I don't think Sticks was ever comfortable with that

If it's one thing I've learnt, it's don't expect any favours from your people once they get on the commission.
