How soon we forget, blokes like 32 and Big Red got shit-canned from one end of this forum to the other by a lot of posters conveniently ignoring the years of misery they endured punching above their weight (sorry Lance) in embarrassingly bad teams. Would like a 19 year old Whitnall turning up at the club next year just quietly. As for Thornton, he's a tough bunny to love but credit for enduring and persisting against better opposition and nasty fan sentiment.

I think I have a tissue here . . . somewhere . . . Now, some stern words. A blokes who are consistently "punching above their weight" are NOT doing the job required for whatever reasons. When this is realised sentiment must give way to practicalities lest further years of misery for all are to be endured.

RE Swann, some board members feel he is a little lazy, and we have stagnated somewhat since Dick has passed. They are concerned by the lack of membership and sponsorship $ coming in. We will only change if Cook becomes or is made available, but at this stage he is committed to the Cats.

IMO it would be no huge loss.

Best case scenario is Thornton goes to the GWS and we get a 2nd rd compo pick, as Port recieved for Krakouer (but that may be a little high ???). They will need some defenders in the beginning to avoid a repeat of what is happening with the GC.

Or how about we do a package deal of Hampson, McLean and Thornton for one of those priority access 17 yr olds and a 2nd rd pick from the GWS ??? They will need a ruckman, inside midfielder and 3rd tall, and a star 17 yr old and a 2nd rd pick to grab another tall forward sounds good to me

Not good news there re: Swann.

Maybe he just needs a stern kick up the backside.

Our membership is the real concern if you ask me. Terrible customer service (if you can call it that) when you contact the club, and the fact that we are well below where we should be when you consider how well we are doing on field.

For one thing we would at least get some form of compensation but the best thing would be the fact that our players would then become off limits to any more GWS poaching.

Mmm, went to shake his hand once and he literally left me hanging for a good awkward 3 seconds before shaking. I don't really hold it against him as it was behind the scenes at Visy and he probably CBFd, comes with the territory though. Get it done Swanny!
