I hope so. I'm a bit surprised with those saying they wouldn't lose sleep over him leaving. Can't wait to see Eddie, Yazza and Jeffy terrorisig opposition defences for years to come :thumbsu:

People forget that he is only 23. He has alot of footy left in him and a bit of improvement to come. He has been more consistant and with more opportunity is playing great footy at the minute.

I'd be upset if he left TBH.

Signing Eddie must now be a priority.

He's just an outstanding footballer and the bond, both on and off the field, that he has with Yaz and Jeffy must not be underestimated.

Still - don't want to 'break the bank' trying to keep him. Must be kept on our fair and reasonable terms especially when we have Yaz and Garlett.

... in fact more concerned that we keep Yarran - is he signed yet ??

Seriously, why would any of our small forwards be thinking of going anywhere.

We're a promising young side, they have the chance to play alongside 2 other indigenous small forwards, they are all close mates, and they are all guaranteed a spot in our team for a long time to come, without competition.

They all work so well together, and they also take the pressure of each other somewhat when one is down on form. This luxury of being able to have a few bad games go unnoticed won't be given at most other clubs.

I'd be dumbfounded if any of them walked away from this rare opportunity.

Agree and I add that it is precisely for that reason, the bond he has with Yaz and Garlett, that I think he will stay.

Yarran should be traded to West Coast for their first round pick, and they can throw in Josh Kennedy while they are at it.

No chance i'd want to lose Yaz. The guy is all class, and the club should be doing all they can to hold onto him.

Entirely disagree. Kennedy is going to be a star, but we knew that when we traded him. Henderson, perhaps will not be as good, but I get the feeling few forwards going around are going to be as good as JK. That being said, the combination of Henderson and Yarran offers more than the combination of Henderson and JK. I think neither Henderson nor JK will be a full-forward.

Hendo looks more coordinated than Josh. Some good pre-seasons and a bit more mongrel in him and he will easily eclipse Josh. Plus better delivery will help

So let me get this straight. If Yarran wanted to go back home to the West Coast, and we were offered their first round selection and Josh Kennedy, nobody here would take it

Not wanting to lose a player is not the same as not wanting a trade that highly favours us (especially since Yarran wants to go in your scenario).

We wouldn't get that offer - the best we could hope for is getting something close to the equivalent of Yarran.

In this case, of course you'd prefer to keep a player with his skills.

Personally, I think Yarran will eventually turn into our best player, so I wouldn't even do your suggested trade.
