Based on no evidence. That's the key detail.

Tribunals convict based on no evidence?

Anyway, my point stands, he is not respected by his peers, it is a poor way to go out of the game as a footballer.

Ablett - "Crowley is a joke! Play the ball, not the man!

'Tribunal chairman David Jones said the case turned on Harvey's evidence and the jury of Wayne Henwood, David Pittman and Wayne Schimmelbusch needed to consider the credibility of both players.

The jury took 19 minutes to uphold the misconduct charge.'

That is about what Crowley reputation is worth, about 19 minutes of consideration. Which is way more than I have given him or he is worth. ;)

What a sore loser Johnson is, tries to jab him in the throat mid hand shake. Very poor form.

Have actually met Crowley several times, genuinely decent bloke and not in the least bit arrogant compared to other afl players.

Those saying he has no offence obviously don't watch Crowley play and certainly haven't seen enough of him over the journey.

Crowls is great at what he does. He's also a good bloke off field.

Isn't it about time you pulled the bitter stick from your arse Tas

I am not bitter, why would I be bitter? I used a valid example how one of our players, Thompson, went from not respected by his peers to respected by his peers and became a better player doing so and said Crowley could be as good or better player without the reputation he has.

Your supporters were either brought up poorly by your parents or the stones haven't dropped yet and you haven't learnt as a man your word and your reputation is the most important thing you will ever have, without it you are nothing.

I'd hate to see someone who can play well turned into Stevie Baker 2.0 by the same man. He obviously doesn't care what floats to shore as the flotsam and jetsam in his bid to be a career coach but the players have to live with their reputations for the rest of their lives. Lyon will just go to the next club and will turn some other hard working player into a turd of a bloke on-field.

There will be no hall of fame for Baker, not for Crowley either. Nobody is going to remember them as footballers for any positive reasons outside of a handful of supporter of the teams. Crowley deserves better than to go out like that, no man wants to be considered a joke. Lyon shouldn't take advantage of him like that, people are more than tools to be used and disposed of.

I have no reason to disagree with you, he is probably a great bloke outside of footy but the way he plays he wont be remembered as a good footballer.

You might think that is me being bitter, but have a look what other players think of him and how he goes about it, listen to Thompson's interview when he talked about being a similar type of player and how it impacted him, his family. It is a shit thing for a bloke. I am being serious. I admire the way he goes about it, but he is pushing limits which you do not need to push to be a good footballer.

Interesting you should say that, that's why Crowley decided to challenge the decision. Boomer was trapped in a lie and decided to push it through to the bitter end and the tribunal chose seniority over the truth.

Sacrificing your reputation for your team. Well, I admire it. Actually I dislike people who care to much about their public reputation. I#d only care about my friends or teammates opinions...

Took one of the most influential players in the game out after having 11 and kicking 2 in the first.
Huge reason why Freo were able to win.
Wish he was playing for Carlton today.
Plays to win, huge :thumbsu: from me.

It was another great effort, no matter what you think of him, he's the best tagger in the game. If he keeps adding an attacking style to his play too he'll become even better. Would love him at north, always gets the job done.

I thought he was excellent yesterday.

I'd love to know what he and Johnson were chatting about after the siren, I'd like to think that he was offering to catch up when the season's over for them to share a few bottles of sunscreen and some laughs.

You are embarassing yourself and clutching at straws, who's opinion is it that he will be regarded as a joke? Do you speak for the whole footballing public? From where I see it 80% of the posters on this thread admire Crowls and clearly consider him the best in the comp at what he does.

Crowls will be remembered as the best run with player/tagger of his generation and a win at all costs footballer, is he antagonising ? Yes. Is he borderline illegal with his tactics? Probably. Will he be considered a joke? Not a chance in hell.

I'm sure hell get a gig on the couch with Mike Sheehan as a b&f winner and 250 game one team player and life member. Where will you be? Jokes certainly not on Crowls bud.

Crowley and Freo are this weeks flavour of the week on Big Footy.

Tas has been consistent (as have I) that Crowley is a flog, albeit an elite tagger.

You are incorrect.

Kane Cornes, Cameron Ling and Brady Rawlings are far above him in that role. They could shut people down and get the ball and use it themselves. I still recall watching Rawlings get 39 touches while holding Stephen Hill to 5. They were footballers with a strong defensive focus. Crowley's sole purpose is to prevent someone else getting the ball. If he wasnt doing that role, he'd be a marginal VFL footballer.

It's guys like this who make footy what it is. Being able to destroy someone through niggling is an art form and it's great to watch.

You really have no idea. After the siren goes Crowley is all about shaking people's hands and showing respect. Get your facts right. Why are North Melbourne supporters so insufferable on BF?

I agree Stevie J was a tool yesterday & instigated the exchange. Very poor loser.

My comment was a general reference to what I've seen many times from RC. When he & Harvey had a similar exchange it started because Boomer wanted to shake & get the **** off the ground (after a pantsing) but Crowley had to keep going. The reference Tas made to Thompson is fair. Scotty pushed it too far & has since acknowledged he could / can get the job done without being an antagonistic flog.

IMO baiting the opposition in ANY way after a loss is poor form; to do so after a win is even worse.

Brady Rawlings:
Games: 245
Disposals: 4344 (avg 17.7)
Marks: 885 (avg 3.6)
Goals: 62 (avg 0.25)

Ryan Crowley:
Games: 162
Disposals: 2337 (avg 14.4)
Marks: (avg 3.9)
Goals: 106 (avg 0.65)

I know stats aren't everything, but they paint a slightly different picture. As I mentioned previously, Crowley (for a tagger) has always been a goalkicker and one that can hurt you offensively. Those that have watched him play throughout his career would realise that.

I actually think the last 2 years he has become more defensive focus, whilst establishing himself as clearly the best stopper in the AFL. Last year he won the Freo B&F. But, he has still average a goal every two games which for any midfielder is not a bad effort.

Have you spent more minutes or less than the tribunal did that you blabbed on about earlier on?
Hopefully Harvey can use Crowley as motivation when he's pounding out those laps in the preseason, imagining Crowley is breathing down his short neck. 'The more k's I get into my legs the better chance I have of getting a touch or at least not getting pinched'.
