Has asked to be traded back to Vic.

Do you want him at Pieland?

He's not exactly what we need, but he is a quality player and you have to look at him.

I wonder what we'd offer at the maximum.

I would really hope we're hanging onto pick 11.

Is a star in his own right and if he came cheap we'd take him.

The harsh reality is cost in comparison to need is going to be way out of wack here and as such it would be silly for us to go after him for any reason other then to bump up his value.

Should not be on our radar... he's class, but medium forwards are not one of our needs and we'd have to give up a pick that could help address said needs.

He's out of contract, which reduces Swans' bargaining power. I really rate him but reckon that all other Victorian clubs with draft picks ahead of ours would be prepared to offer more than we can sensibly afford.

I could really see him at StKilda to reduce dependence on Riewoldt, Richmond (succession planning for Richo) or Melbourne (coz they've got NOBODY).

ROK is the first gun confirmed to be on the move (coz Kerr moving is just speculation). The trade period just got a whole lot more interesting.

And stagnant.

Swans are interested in Kerr.

This may be the way they find 2 first round picks for him.

I think the Saints will bite at O'Keefe but will probably be more willing to offer someone like Kosi than their first rounder.

I reckon he can be more than a medium forward though. He's a class act and lets be honest, our stocks in his age bracket are absolutely ordinary. I'd love for us to at least check him out. I watched him a fair bit this year and his goal kicking from set shots can be shaky, but his field kicking is excellent. He has a huge motor and I've got no doubt he could play on ball, on a wing or a lead up type role. Must make inquiries imo. You can't have enough class.

Not what we need at all. Too old, not physical enough, and too half-forward-flanky. Very good player, and I'm sure Mick would love another forward who leads to the wings (it's his favourite!), but a terrible fit for Collingwood.

But ROK is just a poor man's Reiwoldt. They don't need him any more than we do.

Reckon Geelong could do worse than have a look at him. Then again, they probably don't have the salary cap room.

Not the sort of player the Pies need, but the sort of player Carlton absolutely needs. Except Carlton to throw something serious at the Swans for him.

ROK would be a great 3rd tall for St Kilda. Riewoldt could then be played nearer to the goal squad. FWIW, I'd think the Swans would be looking for a first rounder for him at least. He is a proven star of the competition.

Exactly... which is why we shouldn't bother. He's 27, expensive, has no upside and in a position we have pretty well covered.

We should be going after the likes of Adam Thomson, who's 22, cheap, big upside and in a position we struggle in.

Hawthorn might chase him with their first rounder and say Tim Boyle.

They will want to keep improving for this moment in time, and have plenty of youth.

Sydney could also trade Hall for the dogs 2nd rounder as they are desperate for a forward, and Swans can hope that Boyle could provide them with 30-40 goals for the year.

They then have 2 first round picks and 2 second round picks in a deep draft for the loss of a 30 year old forward and a 28 year old (in January) half forward.

They need youth.

We can also give them Rhyce for their 3rd rounder if they like. On traded for Thomson.

I can't see us going for him given he doesn't fill a need and he's 28. If we're involved in any trade with O'keefe in it, we will be a third party to help the Swans and whatever club that wants him make a deak. Whether that involves Didak who can say at this stage...probably not though.

I'd be amazed if the Blues go for him as they're supposedly gunning for Warnock and I would think it would too tough to meet the demands of both the Swans and the Dockers without being bent over the table. It may work if the three clubs get together on it with pick 6 going to Swans, and the Swans first rounder going to the Docks, which has O'Keefe and Warnock going to the Blues...maybe some more juice from the Blues...Dunno?

Like CATB I can see him at St Kilda and its got nothing to do with Lyon, but more a case of his ability to take some pressure of Reiwoldt and that Dal Santo and Kosi appear to be out of favour there. Can't see them both being in the trade but maybe one and possibly some draft picks being in the mix.

Better off filling our needs than chasing another forward(all though a very good one). Taking Didak out of the equation what you would need to give up to get him would push us backwards IMO. You would really have to question the football departments logic if they gave up a 1st or 2nd round pick for O'Keefe.

Im with you on this one nice post.
Doesnt matter where they play you can never have enough gun players.

He'd be our number 1 forward easily, he's a step above Cloke, Medhurst, Didak and Thomas! They all aren't consistent enough, he's a big time, star player that would improve our forward line ten fold taking pressure off the above players. He'd teach a few things to Jack Anthony aswell
