ROK wants out of the swans.

Would he be an ideal player to fill a gap for 2-3 years whilst younger forwards are developing.

This would allow Kosi to play more predominatly in the ruck, and we would not have a "Big 3" problem experienced with Roo, Kosi G Train, as ROK isn't really a power forward, more a lead up type that we really need, that Charlie Gardiner, didn't really fill this year.

Add to this Rosco's (RL) previous recod of wanting to trade (a'la King, Dempster, Shnider ect..) we could be in with a real shot of nabbing ROK.

What does every one else think, he is 28, so there is a bit of footy left in him.

He would be great for us, and let's take into account Rossy Lyon's Sydney connections. It would be a great drawcard for him to come to the mighty Saintas, and help us to the 2009 PREMIERSHIP!

Would fit in nicely with kerr, cousins and lovett!

...
I am nearly 100% certain that we will get one of these 4, and possibly more. Mock all you wish, but I am confident that with more room in the salary cap (Harvey & Gehrig gone) that we can, and will poach one of these stars.

I thought Lovett had re-signed with essendon.

The brains over at Saintsational want O'Keefe to come to the Saints and would trade Dal, Goose or Kosi for him, or maybe the whole 3?

If it was up to Saintsational we wouldnt have a team

Straight swap for Dal Santo?
Don't think Kosi would be enough.

Other than DalSanto & Kosi what else is there?

Picks are out of the question. And it's been reported that Kosi & Dal have been shopped around...

Wouldn't want to give up too much for him at this age. If we're trading for a forward I'd prefer it to be someone who does more damage on the scoreboard.

ROK would be so good for us.

Destroyed us in 05 final, darn good player, but why does everyone want to
trade NDS for?

Ryan is getting old, I dont think thats a wise choice.

We are in the better position, he wants out, Sydney dont really have a choice here, we do and are in the better position, so you dont need to go out offering good players, get rid of our below par players instead. Its exactly the same when Heath Black wanted to leave, we got Fiz (thats all we were going to get really), so I dont see why this wouldn't be any different for Sydney.

Didn't see this one coming I must admit. O'Keefe would be a great pick up for us and is just the type of mid size, lead up player our forward line needs.

Guess it all depends on whether he actually wants to come to St Kilda and what the Swans want for him. Having the Lyon-Schnieder-Dempster Sydney connection couldn't hurt our chances though.

All depends on cost. Sure he's a good player, but he's on the downhill slope now.

If Ross can work magic like last year I'll be thrilled

I think O'Keefe would be a good fit. Hope the Sydney connection helps. Would also like to get one of Cousin or Kerr.
Dal had one bad year. I think he deserves at least one more year to see what he could do. Would not like him traded at this stage.

Think of the forwardline Geeeeez milne kozzie schneider
o,keefe riewoldt dunno who else to put
if we get him id be drooling lol . if we get kerr that would help dal out considerably because kerr is an inside and out player yes? great rough nut and great runner.
id prefer kerr over o keefe tho

Too late. He is going to Richmond. So says Aron Robert Perkins of 17A Hill Street, West Hobart, Tasmania.

He's exactly what we need - a medium sized forward who can take a mark and be the lead up target when Riewoldt plays closer to goal. He can also drift into the midfield.

And we'd also have the two players who destroyed us in that Prelim three years ago.

But the question is what he would cost us. I think trading Kosi would be too steep a price, because the ideal situation would be to have all three. If we did trade Kosi to get ROK, then Ben McEvoy would probably have to start really developing quickly.

Archie Fraser has already stated pick 13 & 31 will not be traded, which is silly only because it restricts what we can give up for O'Keefe. They were keen in Leigh Fisher last year, but that was 12 months ago. They could probably get him for nothing now.

Fraser has also said we will probably want to use six draft picks. I'm not sure if he is just talking about the National Draft, but if he is, that leaves even less wiggle room to get ROK.

And all the noise today is about Carlton, Collingwood and Hawthorn. Could be the Judd trade all over again.

It's still undecided I reckon If we will trade kosi cause of our big man stocks. If Gardi retires I shouldn't think we will.
SHOULD we also be going for a 28-year-old with the draft changing in the manner that it is? IF there's a younger bloke around should we be going for him instead and HOW is o'keefe's body/injury record?

o'keefe would be a perfect fit for st kilda for the next two years when he is playing good footy, but not sure its worth giving up too much for a player with 2 years left. Dal Santo would have to be out of the question.
Last season the swans had a long look at leigh fisher but was too concerned about his injuries, hopefully we can trade l.fihser and 3rd/4th round draft pick for ROK.

But with a number of 3rd tall fowards around, not quite as classy as ROK, but younger and a chance to come on, it may be better to forget ROK and look at Brad Fisher or Tim Boyle.

I've never seen Brad Fisher do ANYTHING to make me think I would want him on our team

Maybe it's because I'm saturated with Swans games, but I reckon ROK is a star. 3 or 4 years of footy left in him, but wouldn't want to give away the earth for him

I'd rather chase Boyle than Fisher

Fisher to me is one of those blokes who has had "potential" for about 5 years, and we already have several of those

Brad Fisher is a good player

Great over-head mark for a bloke his size, i'd love him down at St Kilda

I would imagine that a large number of clubs would love O'Keefe.

He would be good at:

Saints
Blues..would help to take pressure off Fev
Pies..would go well with their smalls and Cloke/Fraser
Dogs...they really needa Key Forward...but if they cannot get one (and there are not many about)...OKefe would add to them

Hawks have such an awesome forward line already that they do not need him...but would still bea good winger.
