Yes, good catch considering there were about 5 pairs of hands trying to catch it. The kid only looked about 16yo. The crowd certainly had plenty of opportunities to catch, 10 sixes being hit. Qld had better be praying for either rain or Blewett to play a Tendulkar or Lara special.

Blewett is moving along nicely.

I've bee na fan over the years, and I hope he puts a match winning knock up to give the selectors something to ponder over.

Hope the rain clears up...

Apparently Manou's run out was worse than Steve Waugh's - didnt see it though!

He just plonked his foot over the line instead of sliding/grounding his bat. Absolute schoolyard cricket which appropriately sums up their one-day performances this year. Mick Miller 7 off 37 balls after being sent in as a pinch-hitter, 2 kids Stevens, Ferguson (specialist batsman) listed to come in at No7 and 8 respectively. WTF is going on with that side !!!!!!

I'd give you an update except that Ch. 9 have left the match at 5:30pm to go to 'normal' programming, even though the match was still in the balance.

And what was that show they had to go to? A BBC 'reality' TV series set at an airline terminal. I'm sure the swithcboards would've exploded if they hadn't shown that.

Yes, me thinks its about time Ch9 lost the cricket rights, (well can only hope), the way they have treated us cricket viewers, especially in Melbourne has been nothing short of disgraceful, not only that I will be my bottom dollar that given the ING final is in Perth next weekend, Ch9 will only show the first innings.

That is no surprise as that is what happened when WA hosted the final in the 1999/00 and 2000/01 seasons (with the 2nd innings been shown in full after midnight.

I remember last season there were suggestions that the ACB, through pressure from Channel 9, would consider not playing the final in Perth even if WA earned it as they wouldn't be able to show all of the final to the Eastern states viewers.

But I couldn't see that occurring.

That Manou dismissal was infuriating. And Ferguson came in at #9, Stevens #11 but with a runner, so obviously he had an injury but I have no idea what it was.

To make it worse, that episode of 'AIRPORT' was a repeat.Would they have stayed had the game been a bit closer ? NO

Next week, with the final in Perth,we'll only see half the game.

Redbacks have been shambolic in the one day game this year

Blewett's effort has been outstanding (480 runs at 54) considering the lack of support he has received.

They were set a very hard task after the rain though, needed to score at 8.5 an over.

Manou is a shocker. So much talent. So little result.

At least Cosgrove and Ferguson have been given a taste of it this year. Stars of the future.

Blewett took off for a quick single. Manou was running to the keeper's end which was the danger end. A quick throw came in, was always going to be close, Manou neglected to slide his bat and crossed the line with his foot instead. He fell short only just, if he had slid his bat he would've made it easily.
