Owen down the order has actually worked in this spot but it is definitely a pet hate of mine selecting a guy that opens in the big bash at 6 for the national team. How long did we have to put up with Stoinis doing that for. Surely you'd just pick Owen to open over McGherkin and play Tim David in his natural position.

I think this is less of a problem in T20 than other formats given the general requirement for 6/7 to come in and swing for the fences unless the innings is going disastrously.
That being said, the "JFM will eventually come good" experiment is starting to rival Abbott's for concerning longevity.

I have no idea. He's all hat & no cattle (to use an American expression)! He appears to be incapable of shot selection at the right time & given the right delivery. We must have better T20 batsmen across the 6 states. Anyway goodnight & good luck.

Scribes saying Mitchell Owen was nerveless during his debut knock. The Tasmanian debutant refutes that saying it was in fact his batting partner Cameron Green who was the nerveless man by keeping him calm and grounded thruout his innings.
Dont see a thread for the current A series in Darwin. Has George and the panel missed an ideal chance to blood for this series one of pacers Mahli Beardman, Charlie Anderson, Callum Vidler, or all three, given our ageing present pace triumvirate and the fact that many pundits have the three 20 yr olds as a probable future Baggy Greens pace attack. Am adding off spinner Raf MacMillan and left armer Liam Haskett too.
