Teachers are up there with social workers and counsellor's for burning out...the job description is only a fraction of what's actually involved. It 'ain't an easy job at all. Especially if you happen to be good at what you do.
Cheers to you & your partner mate.
I think the one of the most stressful and detrimental to mental health jobs out there is in HR.
A lot of them aren’t worth feeding but the ones that take the load can be in danger of breakdown.

Question:

It's fair to say our list is in better shape than before, that being the case which players do you believe face potential delisting or trading out at the end of this season?

Seems harsh to think about it this early but....I think most likely going to come from the below group. We delisted 5 this year, with JWebb and Steele probably asked nicely...so 7 really.

We delisted 8 the year before.

I don't think we're looking at any retirements this year (unless injury forced). With Hilly, Maso the two oldest but still going strong and contracted. I think Macrae is gonna go for a few more years yet too. After that it's Sincs, Roma and Wilkie who are no chance of retiring in the next 4 years I reckon.

That leaves:

Dodson - safe
Camma - mostly safe
Coopes - safe
Wilson - very safe
Armstrong - safe
Keeler - safe

Butler - could go either way with injuries
Howard - could go either way with injuries

Leaving
Carroll
LOC
Stocker
Dow
Said

in the firing line. Which is nuts cos I like all of them. But you'd have to say at least 3-4 of the above group are likely gone end of year unless we have some surprise trades or retirements.

I think Camma and Keeler get interest this year from other clubs. Obviously Darcy's contract will be a talking point for a lot of the year. And Nas has shown him the playbook there. Hard to say who else contracted might request a trade. Marshall will have another decision to make end of year I guess. Hopefully we come good and Cats go to shit. Hunter may look for a trade if he can't work his way into the best 22. Value wouldn't be very high anyhow.

Unsure on Ronny's contract status. Would be surprised if we gave him 2 years after delisting him. But is that the rules?

THE WOOD ACADEMY CLASS OF 2026

Is Taura, Dodson and Banfield.

(Source, the latest Wood Chery Interview where he took Banfield for a spin - Great watch by the way!).
All three will be living with Wood and his partner for the 2026 Season.

What a development class this could well be. All three are exciting for different reasons. All three will I believe bloom under Wood's watch where he instills how to be an Elite Sport Professional in every way from diet, habits, sleep patterns on up.

What Wood puts back into our club is truly amazing. All Club's have "Best Clubman" awards, but what Wood puts in year after year is outstanding. Shout out to Hill for his offield game too!

I had no idea/brain fog is real that Isaac Keeler is already in his fourth year!!
I had to do a bit of back digging ‘cos he’s a mystery man and there are a lot of free dreams spinning around the air in Jan/Feb looking for a home!

So;
recruited at #44 in the ‘22 draft. Somewhere in the Spencer Gulf SA. (That alone is a mystery place of folklore for a Hamptoner)

2023 Season
Non-starter. Tore his patella tendon in the final session of ‘22 season! (What luck!)
Managed 12 games at Sandy in the latter half of the season
2024
(Get this folks!)
Switched roles to defender. Trained as defender.
Knee troubles mid-season
Re-emerged as a forward towards the latter part of the season. You can see the report for him at full-forward for Sandy for the first time here (in round 17)https://www.saints.com.au/news/1608...captures-the-win-in-zebs-35-point-turn-around
2025
In and out early for unspecified reasons. (That is mysterious again)
Does hammy mid-season
Finally gets rolling
11 games (subbed off twice)
Strengths
Goal sense
Arial (vertical leap) and general agility
Defensive pressure
Weaknesses
Strength (pushed off or under the ball)
Tank
Consistency

‘Might need a couple of years’, writes the reporter in Nov ‘22. mnnn.

But compared to hammer, of a similar size and age, the trajectory is opposite

Adam Larcom I assume?

It’s Dec 31,2025 and St Kilda midfielder Hugo Garcia is practicing speed mechanics with MCAPs Adam Larcom in AFL game related scenarios. As a young AFL midfielder Hugo is practicing accelerating away from midfield contests, receiving the ball then sprinting and bouncing before kicking with penetration into the the forward line. Sprinting with the ball and bouncing needs to be practiced in order to maintain sprint mechanics throughout. 2026 is exciting for Hugo.

Yeah I agree for the most part. Stocker probably unfairly grouped. But if he's bottom 5 on our list we're in a good spot I think.

Where do you have LOC? I think he's closer to safe as well.

Yeah I didn't like seeing 4 years next to Keels feels only yesterday that draft happened. Could really go either way that one with Pou being injury prone and Keeler still a 50/50 proposition.

Yeah its funny Camma looks like the one that should have been a slow build but he's almost played every game since being drafted.

Keeler has all the talent he needs to make it IMO, has another 2 years on the list for mine to show what he can do.

I like Stocker and his intent and hardness but problem is that he is slow ... prefer someone quicker and better contested mark playing that lockdown x linebreaking back pocket/flanker role

Also with Webster retired as well there could now be 2 spots down back up for grabs ... so either Hastie / Trav / LOC / Carroll / Armstrong ... all look to have a hard edge as well .... any one those stepping up to take that role would be a bonus given their athleticism

Yep Caminiti had played 56 games as a 21 year-old!

That puts him in the top five in the current AFL for 21 year olds with so many games!

Thanks mate.
She is exceptional at what she does.
She has described her work day as practicing her stand up comedy routine with a captive audience.
I can see exactly why the teacher retention rate in Victoria is low. As Mowman has suggested some people shouldn't be allowed to breed, also wealth/ money/ status is seen as as a demi god.by lots of parents, more important then personality, compassion and a sense of humor, just my opinion obsv... ooh and for all the things that teachers are required to do at and after work, as mentioned above by many of you, they are under paid significantly!

Generally, talls get 5 years… so he might this year to see if he gets a 1 year or longer contract.
