The Saints don't have a wonderful record against any team in the AFL.
Our record against each club may not be anything special to write home about, (we have a positive win / loss ratio with only a few clubs) but we are addressing the inequity right now.

We have a good recent history against the Hawks and we need to maintain that for a while longer so that we can even the ledger and turn it into our favour.

Head to head: Hawthorn 72 wins, St Kilda 68 wins, 1 draw.

Last time: St Kilda 18.17 (125) d Hawthorn 8.7 (55) round 13, 2006, at Telstra Dome.

Last 6 meetings:
1 2006 13 St Kilda 18.17 (125) vs Hawthorn 8.7 (55) TD WON 70
2 2005 12 St Kilda 15.10 (100) vs Hawthorn 8.6 (54) MCG WON 46
3 2004 13 St Kilda 19.13 (127) vs Hawthorn 9.7 (61) TD WON 66
4 2003 10 St Kilda 17.16 (118) vs Hawthorn 14.6 (90) MCG WON 28
5 2002 13 St Kilda 11.12 (78) vs Hawthorn 13.9 (87) TD Lost -9
6 2001 22 St Kilda 13.11 (89) vs Hawthorn 13.9 (87) MCG WON 2

Another 80 years and that ledger against Carlton will finally be square.

Great Stats, where could i find them for the Hawks Records.

The one on the bottom is incredible against Carlton, mind you Hawthorn's would not be much better. Is that the 21.89% the worst in the leauge vs Any team?

I still cringe when I think about the game out at Waverley in 1999 when the hawks came back from nowhere to beat us. At half time my mates & I were so pumped up, full to the eyeballs, reeling off slogans, singing the song & eyeing off a definite finals series appearance.

Rd 12 1999
St Kilda 9.4 11.6 14.7 14.12 (96)
Hawthorn 1.1 4.4 14.4 17.7 (109)

I think we started on a slide out of the 8 from that game. Hurt us mentally.

We've won the last 8 games straight against Carlton as well so it was much worse than that. :o

hard to believe the saints have a negative record against every team left in the comp,no bears, no north melbourne, no footscray no university are you in the positives with the bulldogs or kangaroos? youd have to be no one surely could have a 100% losing record

The clue is to check the first and last columns.

Footscray includes Western Bulldogs matches.
North Melbourne includes Kangaroos matches.
South Melbourne includes Sydney matches.

So yeah there are only 2 current clubs that we have a positive win / loss record against.

Another way to look at it is to remove the clubs no longer existing in AFL:

1 Bris Bears 1987 1996 15 9 6 0 60.00
2 University 1908 1914 14 8 6 0 57.14
6 Fitzroy 1897 1996 183 77 105 1 42.35

and adjust the table to show how many wins ahead of / behind even (0) the other clubs are:

While we are doing historical stats, here is one I produced recently (sorry about format in Big Footy) to try and prove a point. It didn't though...
