The same three umpires that we had on Friday night have been given the Grand Final..... Does that mean we're playing against 21 people on the field over the first 3 quarters again? :(

**** that, they were a joke on frids, there 4 times that either we shulda got a free or they got a free that resulted in a goal on frids they were horrible decisions in my opinion. Of course i am probs a little bias but i thort they were shit on frids and am very disappointed they are umpiring us again

Might work in our favour. I'd imagine that they might be a little more friendly to us this week after copping a bit of flak during the week.

If not, put Ling on McLaren. He won't get near it.

Can't post threads cos was naughty, but what do you lot think of this theory?

No one has actually yet mention that the Cats struggled last week due to the conditions as it wasn't raining but there was plenty of moisture around giving the illusion that the Cats could commit hard to tackles, run hard, play on and share the ball with quick handballs etc... The conditions made it very hard to do this and in the first half mistakes were made allowing Collingwood to get into the game.

This is not to say Geelong aren't good in the wet, they are one of the best at getting down and dirty and pushing it forward at all costs.

If you get more of the ball you normally get more frees. Somehow we ended the game down in the frees. Goals from frees were particularly critical.

Who knows maybe they'll be more sensible this week. Collingwood always have a great run with the umps no matter who they play.

Not the point i was making, but thanks.

The way I see it, we are brilliant in dry, brilliant in very wet, but quite average in slightly wet conditions (like on Friday night). Im talking a bit of rain throughout the day meaning its a bit greasy on the field. When this happens we still try and play our dry weather, skillful game but our skills were off due to the wetness. Its these conditions where we are vulnerable IMO

Whereas our wet weather gameplan is hard tackling and moving the ball quickly forward.

But regardless, the umpires last friday were shithouse

Given all the soft shite free kicks that Collingwood got - and that we singularly did not get - I'm hoping we get a decent run. You never know, we may get the free ride of all time.

It doesn't matter how we win, as long as we do. Pity they don't allow meatcleavers on the field.

wathced the replay again last night - even in the last quarter when supposedly they evened up slightly, they were atrocious. There were three frees, all dubious that turned the ball over and led to Cllingwood goals. The three canaries were crap and should never umpire AFL again - I would hesitate even putting them into Narre Warren u12's games...
i fully intend on abusing them all day from the moment they step on the park.
