I think some people miss the point of the PSD. The PSD is an opportunity to recruit the best uncontracted players from other clubs. If there are no quality uncontracted players available the next option should be a youngster who may have been unlucky to miss selection in the ND eg Eddie Betts.

Players who have been delisted are exactly that, de-listed. In other words their club doesn't think they are good enough to warrant a spot on their playing list & therefore show them the door. Only if a club intends to use more than one selection in the PSD should a delisted player be considered eg Cameron Cloke.

Why would he refuse the test unless he knew he would fail? Don't bother with Sampi. He's a waste of time. He just wants to get another AFL contract because the pay cheques from the eagles have stopped rolling in and it's a choice of either making a pretence at wanting to play AFL footy again or join the working world like the rest of us. I would rather a player with half his talent but a great attitude and will to succedd like say Priddis at the eagles or Rodan at Port Adelaide than a talented but fat and lazy b****** like sampi. I would be wary of taking more aboriginal players from the top end in the draft like Rioli as well for the same reason - propensity to put on weight and poor attitudes.

Lol why wouldn't he have done the fitness test anyways, just to send a message out there that he's fit? Imo its pretty obvious that he couldn't have passed the test and hence didn't do it

I know he's not the picture of fitness at the moment but regardless if he's the fittest guy going around he was never going to do the test anyway. The only tests he needs to do is with potential suitors.
