They will accept probably but jeez, it brings into query anything he can literally do going forward. Don't understand how someone like Grigg can be fine with multiple elbow attempts above the shoulder of someone and this draws ire. Should the AFL actually look at making the umpires define who the ruck is in each contest beforehand to eliminate this?

It's time to ban the third man up. Sandi shouldn't have to try and compete against two even three players.

Let the ruckman ruck.

Yeah the only reason he bumped Griffiths out of the way was because the other Richmond ruck was going to sandwich him in between the two of them. I'll have to watch the replay again but I thought the other ruck gave Sandi a little nudge towards Griffiths anyway?

Edit: Yep, the other Richmond ruck gave Sandi a little nudge towards Griffith

what a joke!.
luckily we have really good back ups in Griffen and Clarke, this just gives Clarke a go at impressing .

Seriously had enough of the f***ing MRP. Can someone on here who cares more than me put some damning evidence/stats together which proves how deeply we are getting reamed?

Sorry but I am passionate but very lazy. Swear we are getting dicked here.

How the F#$k do we always get the dumbest decisions by the MRP, Griffiths came into the contest leaning over and not even watching Sandi, he has to protect himself if he wants to be a ruckman, this sets a precedent that any player can lean down against Sandi and cause him to be suspended.

I would contest.
Contact unavoidable , And if Sandi had ducked it couldve possibly been worse.
Damned if you do , damned if you don't scenario

Griffiths is shorter than Sandi by 11 cm and was coming in even lower because he was hunched, I presume ready to jump.

While I can accept the big fella hit/blocked him off fairly hard the core problem to me is the lack of definition around who are the designated rucks and allowing third men up at the ruck contest. Sandi has been getting scragged for years by undersize rucks to allow this and overcome his height advantage with only a handful of frees and now he cops a week as well because he tries to block one.

Clarke and Griffen should easily cover for a week though.

Hopefully they contest. Was going to get sandwiched between two richmond players, it wasn't clear who was his ruck oppenent was so he bumped one and then went to contest. If the umpire was doing his job he would have clarified which player was contesting the ruck so that Sandi didn't have to fight off the third man up.

The two richmond players were more concerned about blocking Sandi, that's why Dawson got the easy hitout.

The bump itself wasn't deliberate, unfortunate that he's 10cms taller so his shoulder lines up with his head. Last year they eased up on the none-deliberate head bumps.

Stand by my comments last year that AFL is the worst officiated "professional" sport in the world.

Not only are field umpires (all 50 or so of them) working to different rules and interpretations (often within the same game umps will call the same kind of thing different ways) but, the MRP is an absolute joke with no rhyme or reason to it.

May as well rock up and spin the chocolate wheel to see what you get.

Rugby, soccer, hockey, etc etc etc have some bad calls but are largely well officiated and clear to the observers. AFL is a joke.
