Glenelg v South (Glenelg)

• Midfielders David Mackay and Andy Otten will both line-up for South. For Glenelg James Sellar and rookie Ed Curnow will both line-up in the reserves, that is of course unless Glenelg decide to call up Sellar after a strong showing in the reserves last week.

North v Eagles (Prospect) ABC TV

• Nick Gill named in the forward pocket and Greg Gallman named at FB. Both would want to have big games as both are in line for delisting at years end. Despite North ringing the changes with 6 inclusions, there is no sign of Tony Armstrong who will once again line up on the back flank for the reserves. Not sure what’s happening with Tony. For the Eagles, for whatever reason Jared Petrenko remains on the rookie list and will line-up in the back pocket. Jarrhan Jacky will make his comeback through the reserves. Ken McGregor is named as an out due to the Crows.

Norwood v Central (Norwood)

• For the Legs Taylor Walker will be looking to kick 16 goals, 4 a quarter to convince Craig, and John Reid, that he’s ready. He’ll also need to do a bit of power running ala Luke Jericho and his contested marking will need to be a feature. Aaron Kite, scheduled to make his debut in 2012 will line-up in defence. Ruckman Jonathon Griffin will be back in action for the Dogs and rookie Jame Moss could play in the seniors but might be back in the reserves after a quiet game last week.

West v Sturt (Richmond)

• Rookie Brodie Martin is the lone Crow in action.

:D

Love it :thumbsu:

Gee, a bit ambitious.

Not enough power running for mine.

Hey Drummond, I assume you have seen a bit of Kite can you gives us some info on the lad. Is he someone that we should be excited about?

Eagles on ABC again. Amazing

Someone in the ABC loves them a bit too much. :thumbsd:

I'll be at the Parade watching Tex in action, I'll be interested to see how he goes against one of the better teams in the comp.

I will try and give a bit of a write up on Brodie Martin on Saturday after the game, and Moran also, if he doesn't make the cut (which I doubt).

Dont mind drummond.
He WILL NOT make his debut in 2012:p
It should be next year unless he gets toubled by injuries.

I am very excited about him; we picked him pick 71 or somewhere around there and he is a Moran like player.

I havent really seen any of Moran but is he fast??

Well Kite is! And he break through tackles easily and he will fit into our lineup soon enough

he is a Moran like player.

I havent really seen any of Moran

Kite is brilliant mate. Initially I thought he was a Jericho clone but it took about 2 games to win me over. He really is something special. :thumbsu: He’s 192cm and is as quick as anyone at the club. He has played mostly in defence this year and has done some very good jobs. He stood the Power’s Damon White about 2 months back and held him goalless. In fact when I think about it he has barely had a goal kicked on him. He stays close to his opponent and is very disciplined. He has great versatility and he’s also played on the wing. In fact he played one of his best games for the season on the wing and although he hasn’t spent much time up forward he is capable of playing there.

He has a great pair of hands and is a strong contested mark. He’s a super athlete who has an outstanding leap and as I said, he’s exceptionally quick. He has good skills on either side of his body and is a good tackler. Just needs to add a bit more weight so he can make tackles stick and so he can break more tackles. He won’t play this year but should he continue his improvement I’m pretty sure he’ll play next year. I would suggest he’d be in the first dozen players selected at Norwood each week and the he would have exceeded the AFC’s expectations this year. We got a beauty with the 71st selection.

Apparently Dave will be the Crows 23rd man and wont play for South in case Mcleod doesn't come up.

Brodie Martin from the Sturt Football Club has been named the Round Fifteen Coca-Cola Star Search Award nominee.

In just his second League match, Martin played an outstanding game in Sturt’s 70 point thrashing over South Adelaide in Murray Bridge on Sunday.

Playing on the wing, Martin gained 20 possessions and his pace and tidy delivery of the ball assisted Sturt’s impressive midfield in enabling a smooth transition of the ball through to their strong forwards. His delivery contributed to Sturt’s high scoring in Sunday’s match.

Martin played consistently in Sturt’s Under 19’s during season 2007, as well as playing in their Under 19’s Grand Final team. After an impressive 2007 season, Martin stepped up to Sturt’s Reserves team this season, before making his League debut in Round 13 against Glenelg in front of a crowd of 11,827.

Martin was recruited from the Meninge Football Club in the River Murray Football League. His impressive performance in Sturt’s Under 19’s caught the eye of the selectors and he was recruited to the Crows Rookie list at the end of season 2007.

Brodie Martin is Sturt’s first Coca-Cola Star Search nominee for season 2008.

Introduced last season, the Coca-Cola Star Search Award recognises the talented youngsters making their mark in League

Being a longtime reader and occasional contributor to this website, it supprises me noone has made more of this before. This kid is developing very nicely and would be doing his chances of winning promotion to the senior list no harm at all!

It is last years' Prelim final sides in a four point game. Agree the Norwood game is equally as enticing though.

Drummond,

Kites only got a 2 year contract at Adelaide,so it seems a bit optomistic that he will debut in 2012 on the back line. His contract expires at the end of the 2009 Season.

Kite will debut next year by the sounds of things. You suggesting budz that he won't be with the AFC in 2012, being from Glenroy you might be in the know?;)

Thanks Drummond, that's a good rap you have given the kid. I did see him at pre season training in January and was very surprised with his height, he was standing next to Hentschel at one stage and looked to have the same height. As you said he obviously needs to bulk up.
If he keeps progressing, particularly with his speed (as Craig loves running defenders) and height which would be invaluable in defense, I'm thinking he could be a replacement for Bassett in time, do you agree?
