Round 17 2009:

Saturday 25th July
Eagles v North - Woodville

* Key forward Trent Hentschel continues to gain momentum in his 27th AFL comeback as he's named in the Eagles league side for the first time this season I believe. He's named at FF while Petrenko is named in the back pocket. For North Phil Davis is named in the back pocket, Armstrong on the HBF and Rory Sloane on an extended interchange but should play. I assume Greg Gallman is in the reserves but I couldn't be bothered checking, not worth the effort.

Glenelg v Central - Glenelg (ABC TV)

* Unfortunately there are no Crows players in the league game which will be televised. You could technically count Jonathon Griffin but I won't because he's so average. The "future Dean Cox" will be hoping to build on his impressive 4 possession game last week. This game promises to be a gem, 1st v 2nd, GF rematch and likely 2009 GF. The only action on the Crows front is in the reserves where fellow rookies Ricky Henderson and Brian Donnelly will line-up with their respective clubs. I guess it's possibe Douglas could play but even if he's dropped he's probably going to be on standby.

Norwood v South - Norwood

* Will Young the superstar is named on the HBF for the Legs, Taylor 'Coleman' Walker is in the forward pocket while Aaron Kite is on an extended bench and is unlikely to play. Luke Jericho is back in the league side after being sent to the reserves in an attempt to work on his intensity and effort, oh hang on...

For South Myke Cook will line-up in the midfield and can hopefully find a bit more of the ball this week. He had a good showing in his previous encounter against the Legs, and for that matter he also had a good one AT Encounter...

Sturt v Port - Unley

* Tom Lee is in the reserves and will look to set a career high with 8 disposals. All the best Tom, the stage is set.

Bye – West

could try and hype it up a bit more and say it's Centrals 1000th ever league game

. Norwood v South - Norwood

* Will Young the superstar is named on the HBF for the Legs, Taylor 'Coleman' Walker
im tipping at least 8 goals by Tex, can norwood reschedule it to before the showdown again this year, so I can go to it and not miss the Roosters game

Harsh, but then potentially fair:D He has gone backwards faster than an Italian tank since early last year.

I am at Sturt/Port tomorrow so I will try and get there early and watch Tom and all of his ball-getting ability.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's match at Gliderol Stadium. Special day for Centrals as they celebrate their 1000th league match.

Also, 891 ABC Adelaide will be doing the pre-match for this game. Bit odd that they'll bring all their gear out to Glenelg simply to do a pre-game but better than nothing at least.

Wheres Jacky? Hes listed as available on the crows injury list yet not named in the Eagles league or reserve sides?

Not good enough for either I would assume. :thumbsu:

 IIRC didn't you also have Armstrong penciled in the delisting this time LY

Jacky has had a bad run with injuries and lack of confidence ........all up a bad year for the lad

But that doesn't mean he should be written off .........the club was full of praise for Jacky LY ......that in my calculations means a one all draw ........but patience is not one of your better traits ;)

I always rated Armstrong even when half the board were calling for him to be dumped. You owe me an apology.

Then if you insist .....you have it :o .......but I did say IIRC

Thanks again Drum.

Good to see Trent is back. Hoping that he can get few a handful of games and see what happens from there. Really hope he makes it back, but more importantly he knee is sound long term.

Too early to write Griffin off. Before he suffered a string of injuries he was looking like being a very good ruckman. I would like to see Griffin come in and share the rucks with Maric for the remainder of the year.

We wont see the best of Maric and Griffin for at least another year. Lets give them time.

Totally agree ......Griffin is by far our best tap ruckman

He just doesn;t work hard enough around the ground or hold marks .......they're the big question marks to be answered next season

Douglas isn't playing for glenelg. Late change on the cards maybe?

Walker has 4.3 to half time.

Kite kicked 3 goals in 2 minutes in the last quarter of the reserves as Norwood stole a win.
