He won't be traded unless it's to get a big name player. I will guarantee it.

This article puts a lot of the fake stories that we are definately trading R.Shaw and Didak at this stage in perspective. http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/pies-to-stick-by-fallen-stars/2008/08/09/1218139175457.html

I've been thinking about a similar line of thought today. Reminds me of the parable of the good shepherd. I'm not a religious person but I see a lot of truth in those words...

If religion offends you or you are offended by out of context religious quotes I would avoid reading the rest of my post.

I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all of his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice. -- John 10:1-5

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me - just as the Father knows me and I know the Father - and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life - only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father. -- John 10:11-18

Calmly phone the club and register your view on Didak.
Enough people ring and they will certainly take it on board one way or the other.

The following comment by Eddie and the fact all three were in the box on Saturday night hints toward eventual forgiveness.
"Declaring again that the under-siege club would stick by and support the suspended Heath Shaw, Rhyce Shaw and Alan Didak, rather than abandon its own, McGuire said the Magpies stood determined rather than humiliated, and certain that most, if not all, players who came through the club left as better people."
"We would rather make a mistake protecting our players than enjoy the sanctity of indifference"

Alan had ample opportunity to save himself, everyone keeps saying we need him to win a premiership yet the guy is out getting plastered 5 days before a match that will make or break us for the finals.. and all of this on his last chance after the incident last year

I don't care about lies

I don't care about getting a lift with the wrong guy

But throwing seasons away on binge drinking cannot be forgiven or accepted

incase you havnt noticed this is about saving alan didak from being traded.

dont post if your gonna go off topic

this is about saving didsy and not getting rid of him
Well if it's about saving Didak then by definition his behaviour is on topic.. endorsing that behaviour to the club and pressuring them to go soft on him will result in zero premierships.. guaranteed

It looks as if cooler heads are starting to prevail. Actually I think that of the 3, Rhyce may be the most valuable for this year's finals anyway. Of course Didak is a better player at this stage, but Rhyce adds something we seem to have a particular deficiency in and has been in excellent form.
The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if didak does get another chance in the finals if he is a choir boy in the meantime. Screw the obvious hysterical media reaction from turds like CAro, the members and supporters would be very pleased and it would be great for club morale. If that happens the whole affair might turn out to be a blessing coming into the finals, since from here on in there will be a huge reduction in alcohol use by the players which might have a very beneficial effect on the ground.

the question is what though? im all for keeping dids... he is OUR player.. eddie is our good sheppard.. and didak is our lamb.. we need to convince the sheppard we dont want to make a roast out of lamb, instead, let him develop into a fine wool producing specimen...

how abot we all send emails to the CFC stating our positon on the matter.. maybe someone could also arrange an online petition...

if anyone knows eddies or a relevant email address plz let me know..

I would be loathe to support any thing that harms the Club (public humiliation in the press would ensue), due to one individuals indiscretions.
The Club will always come first for me.

Who here actually thinks he will change his ways?

Keep in mind a mother came out last year and rightly or wrongly blamed him for the death of her son.. he was embarrassed and vilified Australia wide.. told he was on his last chance..

And now he's out drinking again before a season defining game???

Keeping him sends the wrong message to every young player at the club

There's only one question here.. do you want Didak.. or do you want a premiership?

You might want to include your membership number.
You have got one, haven't you?

Jabso your dead right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So to stop him getting traded Kerr and BROWN must stay at their respective clubs. Then why would we trade Didak ?
Believe me all these detractors at other clubs ie port and adelaide would be licking their chops to get Didak.
I would ask if the case arose at least first round draft pick plus a player of the claibre of boak, salopek or reillly or tippett mimimum.
You see Didak is a star already the options that the other clubs would be offering players with maybes.Maybe salpek will good, maybe boak will turn out to be good.
Yousee Diaks advantage is that he can play midfield and hurt you in the forward line, whereas players like Boak or Salaopek can only play midfield or just one position.

I think he wants to change, but as it was reported in the press on the weekend, once he hits the piss, he totally loses it.
So as long as he drinks, he is incapable of changing.

I would not be too worried about how Eddie and the club are looking at the series of events.
Just read all the latest statements from the "pres" and the club and there is a definite move to cast the club in the light of doing the right thing by "troubled" players. Not deserting them when they need some guidance etc.

It may all be simple posturing but it certainly adopting the posture of a "benevolent father" than that of an "indignant executioner'...if you know what I mean.
The fact the "3" were in the box versus St Kilda is also telling, I think.

then you should also place ur number on any petition made in favour of collingwood keeping dids.. in ur heart of hearts know thatkeeping didak is the RIGHT thing to do.. both for club and player..

He had his chance last year Spartan, after a terrible, shocking set of circumstances.. the fact it had no affect on his behaviour should tell you all you need to know
