Watching the game now and the ground is so small. One chip gets you into your fwd 50. The SCG is a disgraceful AFL venue to bloody small.

OK, you are right. So solution? They have increased the size of the ground since Richo did his knee on the fence. Sorry they increased the boundary area only. If you have been to the ground there is no extra room and the only other way is to go to rugby strongholds (apart from Telstra Stadium not sure they can do it either).

Makes for fast scoring though, that 9 goal 2nd quarter by the Swans must have been entertaining.

Skilled Stadium is far too SKINNY for a AFL ground.

The Sydney Cricket Ground remains the premier Australian Rules football venue in Sydney despite Stadium Australia having a much larger capacity.

Just Another Stupid Statement from an ill-informed thuby qld-er.

Kardinia Park Dimensions: 183.7m by 149m
MCG Dimensions: 172.7m by 149m

* KP's width may have been reduced by a few metres due to the redevelopment this year.

Actually littleduck is right, most of the home games Sydney play are at the SCG. So for the moment at least it is the premier location for AFL in Sydney. Plus the ground suits Sydney's style of play so it helps them to win more games making the fans happy and coming back for more :D

Swans should move to Stadium Australia, the SCG playing surface is absurdly small.

The playing surface of the SCG (16,000 sq metres) is actually larger than Homebush (15,000 sq metres). Homebush is 11 metres longer than the SCG.

So Stadium Australia is longer but an even smaller ground... interesting. That destroys the ol SCG is too small so let the Swans play permanently at Stadium Australia argument.
