Read in Inside Footy in Crackers Article they he says his spys have come back and Said Burns will help eagles for 1 more Season and Return to the Pies to Help Bucks when he Takes Over

Agree - Late Last Season he said O'Bree was Retiring and going to be an Assistant at the Rood

I'd love to see him come back to the Pies, but I daresay he has something a little more senior in mind than an assistants role if he really is coming back to Victoria.

Yeah if Scotty wants to be an assistant for 10 more years at Collingwood then I can see him coming.

Haha, Crackers is funny, Scott Burns will be interviewed for any senior coaching job that comes up in the next 12-24 months.

He will most likely be coaching a senior side by 2012, meaning almost no chance of him returning to the Pies.

Don't know why he would want to come back to us anyway, no chance of him getting the senior job for 5-6 years.

It's coming from more than just Crackers than SSB is coming back to Melbourne, he knocked by a contract extension supposedly.

I think Crackers has just joined his own lines between that and coming back to Collingwood though.
He'd be more likely to be trying to grab a spot that'll be vacated by a Knights or Clarkson, rather than coming back to continue to play second fiddle.

For what it's worth Buckley could've walked into any open coaching spot he wanted, but chose to stick with Collingwood as an assistant for 2 years because he wanted to stick with the club. Burns might be the same way, he could get any coaching job he wanted, but the lure of Collingwood is strong.

For what it's worth Buckley could've walked into any open coaching spot he wanted, but chose to stick with Collingwood as an assistant for 2 years because he wanted to stick with the club. Burns might be the same way, he could get any coaching job he wanted, but the lure of Collingwood is strong.

Buckley also had an iron clad agreement that sees him become the head coach after 2 years, I doubt SSB is going to get that reassurance.

In saying that, I do agree that Burnsy would have a pretty sure desire to get back and be involved with a premiership alongside Buckley at Collingwood. But I think that'd be his fall back option if he couldn't snag a top job.

There's rumours already floating around that he is going to be screened for the Bombers job, there is a massive thread on it over at Bomberblitz, so this rumour has some legs.

Rumour from "Whispers" was that Burns has knocked back a contract extension to come back and be Bucks' right hand man.

They all followed eachother in the Captaincy Stakes too. First Rowdy. Then Bucks. Then Burnsy

Burns is a TOP bloke. Him and Lee Walker used to live 3 houses away from me, and my brother and I used to go down there every now and again. Two of the most down to earht guys you'd ever meet. Tangles was a legend.

They had a framed poster of Daicos in their kitchen labeled 'mini Tangles' or 'Tangles Jr' or something like that. So cool.
