Season 2022

Agree but in this day and age it just shouldn’t be happening.
Time for the thugs to go and retire.
Be interested to hear which club whacked first?

YJ player first Powelly player retaliated. Both not what we want to see going forward. The YJ players act was very dangerous and totally unacceptable

Yarra Junction made a huge statement on the weekend against arch-rival Powelltown in what was Jarrod Bayliss's first loss as coach at home. That's two consecutive big scalps on the road! Despite the Demons being without Russell Cowan, Dean Roy and Garry Sheppard, its undersized backline really struggled. They were simply no match for Sam Morton, David Johnson and Michael Brown. Powelltown will be looking to bounce back this Saturday, but it won't be easy against ladder-leader Kinglake. On a side note, what a huge fall from grace by the club's reserves, who are 0-7 after finishing last season 9-1 before lockdown. Hopefully they can bounce back in the second half of the year!

Why have Powelltown’s reserves dropped away so badly?
Will be a big game against Kinglake who by all reports have had a significant injury list to senior players, playing 4-5 under 18’s each week in senior side. Great for those young players to get exposure at senior level.

Are YJ back to premiership favourites after beating both Powelltown and Kinglake?

What has happened at Alex, they were flying last year but seem to have dropped off the pace slightly?

In Div 1, can anyone beat Seville or is it a one horse race?

Can Emerald challenge them?

In premier it seems to be a one horse race with Narre seemingly miles in front of the chasing pack?

Can Wandin or Pakenham spring the upset?

All senior games are on video aren't they? I would hope the local leagues are stricter than the AFL. It's been difficult in the past as it's always players down-playing something and the umps having to turn up and explain what they saw.

But when there's video and if it's as bad as people are saying, you'd hope they throw the book at them.

A number of Powelltown’s dominant reserves players last season are currently playing in the seniors. The great Terry Walker’s also only managed one reserves game this season due to injury. It’s fair to say that a lack of depth has made for a very tough start to Matthew McArthur’s coaching career. As for Yarra Junction, they’re tracking along quite nicely. A win against the Burras on the weekend will certainly enhance its premiership credentials. The Rebels have been disappointing this season given the amount of talent they brought in over the off season, but I wouldn’t be writing them off just yet. Division One is clearly a two-horse race between Emerald and Seville whilst in Premier Division, it's very hard to go past Narre Warren, who are certainly a class above the rest of the competition.

Apparently got off🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I haven't seen the footage, so can't really comment. Any way to share it? Should be fine, especially since he got off, he mustn't have done anything?

It was 3-4 in the AFL or any other comp. Running at a player with no eyes for the ball and hitting them high front on.

Having looked at both line ups for the Powelltown and Kinglake clash; I would be very surprised if the Lakers prevail this afternoon. The Demons welcome back key defender Mitch Cadusch and integral players Russell Cowan, Chris Moreland and Garry Sheppard. Former East Ringwood senior footballer, Joel Dagher, has also been named on the half-forward flank and will make his debut for Powelly. This is close to Powelltown’s best 22 (just missing Dean Roy) and following last week’s one-goal loss to Yarra Junction, you would be very brave tipping against them today.

Upwey failed to kick a goal in the first half against Narre, they where pretty confident about being competitive at the start of the year, seem to going down hill at a fast rate of knots.whats the go there

Narre are far superior than any other team.

Upwey have been very competitive in a number of games such as Woori, Olinda and were wildly inaccurate against Mt Evelyn, and probably them 3 games could of gone their way.

Yes the rest of the teams are cannon fodder against Narre.

In both grades.
Was always going to be the case unfortunately.
Besides the clear front runner, it seems like a pretty good season to date.

By the looks of things clubs around the Valley are really loading up on kids. Fantastic to see coaches preparing for the future rather than risking everything for one shot at glory.

Disappointing to hear of a season ending injury to O’Keefe at Seville. Gun player and hope injury isn’t too bad.

A couple of players getting a bit jumpy about not getting there match payments as yet. Clubs must be battling.

???? If its season-ending, that a serious injury, isn't it?

He said to me it's about a 6-8 week injury. With another 12 games yet to be played that leaves an opening to resume somewhere prior to finals. If Seville continue their current form probably no need to bring him back early. Certainly a big out and good luck with the rehab.
