On a point of order you don't take a X-ray. You take a radiograph. X-ray are the electromagnetic radiation that is emitted by a device. The image generated is a radiograph.

You do not take a (visable) light. You take a picture with you camera.

One of my ancestors was a radiologist and he failed all students who uttered the word 'X-ray' when they meant radiograph and where ever he worked, if the hospital had the word X-ray on a sign, he would chisel it orr and put up 'Radiology'.

X-ray are free and you are being hit by them now. Background radiation baby.
