Just heard on Ch 9 news there's going to be another big screen put up at the Southern end of AAMI Stadium. Don't know if this has been mentioned but it's the first I've heard of it.

That is indeed good news if so :thumbsu: Did they have any date for this, like what it be done for next season?

AAMI is to receive a $5.5m upgrade

Hopefully they wont waste it on another screen - hopefully they will cover / enclose the Food, Bar, Toilet, Services areas on the Eastern wing. Having to line up for food in the rain is a joke.

If people wanna watch screens - let them stay home and watch the one in their lounge room

going to be another screen on top of the park pavillions... apparently to help bid for the world cup of soccer... coz all stadiums that are world class have to have 2 screens... mike rann was on the radio about it earlier....

As much as a second big screen would be good for people at the northern end (i.e. me) I just hope that they are considering where they place it in reference with future stadium upgrades so they don’t do a botch job like the original screen at the northern stand.

Heard Microphone ( Good News ) Mike say AAMI stadium has to be upgraded to State-of-the-Art so we can compete for events like the World Cup. State govenment putting in $ 5.5 million and I presume the SANFL the rest in a 5 year upgrade, including a super screen at the Southern End

1. I hope they choose a Clipsal Screen this time as I find the present screen not very clear

2. I hope there is an overall plan so that eveything gels so as to improve the amenities and efficiency of the stadium

3. They are presumably going to increase capacity in some way but at the moment they could reduce the members area by about 3000-4000 seats and returm them to general admission, which in the Crows case means they could offer more season's tickets. It's patently obvious that most of the Cat 1 Port supporters do not attend Crows matches and vice versa, hence one of the reasons we only get about 42,000 people to our matches when the capacity is 52,000.

4. If they increase the capacity, is it possible there could be more room between rows so that one can get past people and even make the seats a little larger as our population is " growing" (so to speak)

Jeez all those cross eyed Port Supporters have some political clout. :D :p

Media mike says a lot of things, This would be a major turn around by the SANFL to allow and encourage soccer or cricket, the only reason for allowing the occasional concert is because of the unbelievable money they make out of it.
I hope its true but the cost of upgrade against the return wont allow it to be done properly. A new east wing, players/officials facilities, screens, roof etc would be huge money.
It will be a coat of paint and a new TV.
And hopefully better food.

Not clear? I can see it fine from down behind the goals under the Northern stand at Port games, and even better from my seats on the wing for our games.

I think wasting money on a new screen is a bad idea. Increase the capacity should be a number one priority, and if not, then spend the money to develop Adelaide Oval.

It won't bother me too much, I can see the screen well at the moment, but I have sat in the Northern stand and it did sh*t me to tears that I couldn't see the replays etc. I think its a good move, but that seems like a lot of money for a screen, but then that is coming from someone who has no idea at all about how much these things cost.

If the SANFL put the new super screen is the same position as the old screen, it will not bother me one iota as I sit directly under it now and never turn around to look at the score.

Hopefully they have funded some money into this $35,000,000 upgrade so they can rebuild the eastern wing catering and bathroom facilities.

7000 more seats would not go astray at the same time to lift the capacity up to 60 K
