Who are we going to go with to get us over the tigers. My selections are the following.

Out-
Enright (will miss 6 weeks with injury)
Rooke ( given another chance and didn't take it has to be axed)
Gardiner ( given the whole game and didn't do much)
Spriggs ( had a shocka 3 weeks in a row, has to be axed)
Tenace ( needs to go back in the VFL for a while)

Other guys who are under the pump but i wouldn't axe would be David Johnson and Josh Hunt.

In-
Graham ( should be fit and in our best 22)
Riccardi ( will play this week)
Sanderson ( also should be right)
Koulouriotis ( next in line for a senior match in my mind)
Callan ( done well all year and deserves a shot)

Charlie did more on the weekend than Graham has done for 12 months.

Charlie constantly gave us a target, something that Graham doesn't do.

Charlie was good on the weekend and deserves to keep his spot.
Graham has been atrocious for 12 months, and must be made to earn a spot in the seniors.

Just to elaborate on what P&P said, Charlie was, along with Playfair, a good target up forward for us. He may not have kicked a bag of goals, but his leading out of the forward 50 was encouraging to see from him.

Rooke still hasn't been playing the Rooke-style we all know, but before we drop him, there are others who performed worse then he did on the night.

Not a big fan of DJ, dunno who is, but I can't find much fault in the game he played on Saturday night. The same can be said of James Rahilly. Both tagged reasonably well in the bigger scheme of things, and that being said, will probably be kept.

Graham and Ricco don't deserve to be in the side, as both are playing pathetically. Yet when you bring into consideration the experience they will bring to the team, it is hard to think Thompson will bypass them.

Koulouriotis is certainly up for selection, but in my mind, is not the next in line. Callan should deservedly be in the team now, and should be in deep consideration due to the fact of Enright being out. The only thing counting against him is the fact that Sando is also due back this week.

Forgot to mention Rooke.

He isn't in the greatest of form, but if the rest of the squad put their body on the line as much as Jarad, we'd be winning a lot more games.

No way will charlie be dropped. Let him play on the flank and do exactly like he did on Saturday. Use his pace and make long leads and provide an option on the wings and the center. He is never going to be a strong CHF.

In: Koula, Callan, Ablett (if fit Ricco if not), Graham, Bartel. Don't think Sando will be right. If he does get up then he'll play ahead of Callan.

Out: Tenace (needs full game), Johnson, Rooke (struggling), Spriggs (needs to find the footy) Enright (inj)

I wouldn't be surprised if they keep Tenace to play a midfield role with the composition of the side. Sanderson will be included if fit and if not Callan will come in.

In:
Graham
Kouloroutis
Sanderson/ Callan

Out:
Enright (wrist)
Rooke (omitted)
Spriggs (omitted)

IN
Graham
Thurley
ABlett

Out
Rooke
Spriggs
DJ

Gardiner was definately reasonable. Im still mad at him for dropping that mark at HB on the lead in the last quarter which lead to a Sydney goal but he'll learn from that.
Tenance to go back to the VFL.
Spriggs to be dropped.

Out
Rooke
Spriggs
DJ

Ok Rizzo. What exactly are you thinking here? I agree with the Spriggs decision. He gave the side nothing. No attack at the ball, no foot skills, was simply a passenger.

Now im similar to GeeCat in being a big critic of Rahilly & D. Johnson and would have been very happy not seeing them back at the club this season [i believe Rahillys experience saved his ass] but i cannot fault either of their games on the weekend. Johnson tagged Williams who didnt get loose until late in the last quarter. But then few Geelong players won their position in the last quarter.

Seems nearly all of you want Rookes head? Got a reason other than 'out of form'? I bet Cat In A Hat will go on about getting 3 possessions blah blah blah. He spent the least time on the ground out of any of our players [42 minutes]. And the large majority of that time was spent tagging Williams when DJ was getting a rest at mid-late in each of the quarters. He gave away one stupid free-kick when he came on and then nearly immediately followed that up with a 50 metre penalty [How he got away with that ill never know] and after those early stages he did nothing wrong IMO. Sure he only got 3 possession but they were all long kicks which found targets opposed to one of our other taggers in Ling who got more of the ball but about 5 times the clangers!
What im getting to is Rizzo you are dropping two of our taggers and leaving in our other tagger Ling who IMO is in as bad as form as Rooke is ATM. With a midfield of K.Johnson, Coughlan, Campbell & small forwards like Rodan & Krakour [one of which Rahilly will take] surely there is room for at least one of D. Johnson or Rooke in our 22 this week.

*Late Edit* And with Enright out theres another player who takes a mid-small forward each week gone.

In: Graham [As JUB JUB said his record against the tiges will get him a place no matter his form or not having full fitness]
Callan
Koula

Out: Spriggs
Tenace
Enright

Dammit I wish there was some sort of applaud Smiley. Agree with what you just posted Sammy, especially comments concerning my man Jarad Rooke.

If he isnt on their is a reason cos he isnt the best side to take the field so if he is just a bench warmer, drop him.

Right so everytime someone is on the bench, they're considered a bench-warmer, and thus should be dropped.

In: Graham- Extra tall may stretch a small tiger backline, and as said before plays well against them.

Sanderson: If fit will be needed to play on Krakouer or Rodan in backline.

Ablett: Might not be ready but even if he got 6 touches may well end up as 3 goals to him and the setting up of another 3.

Riccardi: Not as good through the midfield anymore, but knows how to kick a goal, something that many players at geelong dont (even the "full forward") so much needed presence in the forward line. Gets best small defender (Chaffey?) which frees up Chapman, Ablett if he plays and possibly a resting James Kelly.

Out: Rooke, only got a game cos ricco was out and didnt do enough

Spriggs, enough said

Enright, Injured, but id play ahead of spriggs :P

Tenace: let him get 40 touches in the vfl and come back on fire, not getting enough game time for my liking, but thats the thompson way

I dreamt last night that Graham kicked 10 goals as Geelong went on to win by 50 points!

Unfortunately there isn't so much happening in the VFL to warrant big changes.

Koula may get a guernsey, but all he did last week was distribute the oranges at 1/4 time, he did that bloody well though!

Getting back experince into the team is essential. So any of Graham, sanderson, Riccardi being anywhere near match fit will see them in the side. Swap over a few of the younger players to get them a bit of the run and a touch of the footy in the twos.

Bring in Spencer.Let Graham prove his heart muscle err sorry pec muscle in the VFL. Seya Rooke
Bring in Thurley. What the hell did we get him for if we arnt going to play him. Byebye Spriggs
Bring in Kouloroutis.Lets face it if hes going to get a game the Tigers is as good as its going to get
Bring in Ricco.Hes on the list and we may as well give a go.But no woosy stuff , on the ball. Make him use his seasoned body for G sake.If he cant get the ball he must not let the other guy breathe. He has to go to libba mode for us.GET ANGRY.
Goodnight DJ

If Shannon Byrnes was fit and going Id bring him in too.

Apart from our experienced 3, I can't see Thompson pulling out anymore youngsters or debutants this week.
