I am, for sure! I like players with intensity and Sellar's got a ton of it! It's the main reason why I haven't been calling for Griffin to come back in, he's the most timid big man I’ve seen. At least with Sellar you know he’ll give you a contest and won’t shy away from the physical stuff. Add that to his improvement around the ground and growing confidence and we’ve got a player who’s contributing nicely.

He got us going in the middle when replacing Maric early in the first quarter

Craigy has been defending Jim and his position in the team for several weeks now. I think it is becoming obvious now to most why Jim has kept his spot. Niel and his assistants are probably a little bit closer to the action and have noticed Jim's delvelopement a little earlier than most supporters.

If he can keep that up he will be a very solid player for us. You can't really fault him this year. He was playing solid SANFL footy early in the year and while he didn't set the world on fire in his first few matches, he has gradually improved. You can tell his confidence is growing and he seems to be covering the ground better now. Terrific game.

from the first half to first three quarters, majority of his possessions ended up putting another player under pressure or just stuffed up, due to his slow thinking. in the ruck, he looked outplayed all day though; he just can't jump high enough to contest.
by the end of the day, he did have a few good handballs...
i'd say overall, it has been another week of minute incremental improvement from Sellar. i'm still doubtful about going into our finals campaign with him, but who else do we really have (underdone Moran and Griff).

He is becoming a genuine second Ruck option. May not be true Ruckman but is more than handy around the ground and is competitive in the Ruck.

Be interesting when Moran is fit.

I try to put my mind in the way the coaches would think, and that game today would of just given them a huge headache for next year.

He will play out the year as the #2 ruckman (unless he gets injured) but this offseason is going to be a hell of a fight between moran and Sellar for that #2 spot.

Unfortunately for him, I see Moran winning that battle.

but now just to point out 1 negative. 5 hitouts by a 2nd ruckman isnt good enough, but at least 20% of those went to advantage, loved that one over his head in the ball up right onto Edwards' chest, running through the center circle.

Sellar's best game for the Tri-Colours. No doubt about it, a few very effective handballs and ran hard to provide an option.

Having said that his the first out as soon as Griff or Moran show some form. The guy struggles to get off the ground, is too slow, and doesnt have good foot skills, cant see him lasting too long in the AFL. Big Heart though and is trying hard, is providing something for us out of our depleted stocks.

you are probably right. He will be going against those guys. But I think that is the only place his careers lies in.

Sellar > Griffen.

His in close handballs were superb and has a real knack of delivering clearances. If Moran were fit we would never have seen him but in a way I'm glad it happened this way because he is a genuine 2nd ruck and could make it at CHF at some stage. Burton isn't a tall forward, neither is Walker really. Wow we have an abundance of forward talent suddently... Who'dve thunk it?!

We often play a 4 man forward line with our half forwards pushing up to the wing.
