I certainly haven't seen that posted anywhere else on here or even social media.
Bonafide source or 2nd - 3rd - 4th hand information and when is supposed to have taken place?

It got sent to the club apparently just before Christmas. As I said I dont think it is a big deal, there would plenty of players that smoke occasionally, some probably more than that. I think it was just a good reminder that as an AFL player people take an interest in everything you do.

I've heard it on more than one occasion that a fairly well credentialed Australian marathon runner "smokes like a chimney".

Obviously, it's better if McAdam doesn't, but it might not be the end of the world.

Supposedly his half brother has signed with our SANFL side and Petrevski-Setons cousin.

Shane Radbone is a director with Helix Player Management, which is based in Adelaide and just started up in November. He's always done mentorship type work with young indigenous football players, but now looks like he's using HPM as a chance to push them into SANFL and beyond.

Seen quite a bit of one of the players mentioned in that article Dale Cox who didn't play for the Rebels this year as the article states, he played here for the Rebels and St.Pats in 2017, small defender but would need to have improved quite a bit to be an AFL playerb on what I 've seen up close.

I remember back in the latter stages of Darren Jarman's career, I was listening to Andrew Jarman on the radio during preseason talking about how D Jarman was getting serious about his fitness that year and had given up smoking. So presumably that means he had smoked through his entire career up to that point - maybe that was the secret weapon powering him to 11 goals in 2 grand finals :P

But yeah, a different player in a different age. D Jarman was never really a running machine in his prime. A small-medium forward these days would cover more ground in one game than DJ probably did in an entire season back when he was playing :P AFL players these days are such finely tuned athletes that these little things that might only make 1-2% difference can turn out to be the difference between making it or not. You might be able to get by on pure talent at SANFL level, but it takes more than just talent to make it in the AFL, so hopefully the club have had a word to him about it.

I thought smoking kept your weight down?

I find exercise & healthy eating a better alternate...

There really should be better incentives to eat healthier & exercise from a school age as the percentage of unhealthy Australians is every increasing & the Government have buggar all strategy to address.

I'm a fan of the idea of airline baggage limits including the weight of the passenger + the weight of the luggage. Why am I paying the same amount for a flight with the same baggage weight limit as the guy next to me when he's 50kg heavier? He should have to pay for the extra weight, or I should be allowed to take an extra 50kg of baggage. Not that I actually have 50kg of stuff to lug around, but the principle is still valid, otherwise I'm subsidising the cost of the airline carting his fat arse around :P

To me the issue with smoking is like putting regular fuel into a high performance racing car. If you don’t know how to look after it then it’s a waste. Players that want to be elite and get the best out of themselves need to get everything right. Then they need a bit of luck on top of that.

Hopefully it’s not true. I’ll give players the benefit of the doubt on these things, so I just hope it’s not true.

Brother of Daniel from the recruit?

Has it been confirmed anywhere that we've given him a 3 year deal ?? According to footywire he's signed until end of 2021. Means the club wants to make sure he isnt going anywhere. But I can't remember seeing it mentioned anywhere. I think most assumed it would have been a standard 2 year deal.

How things change so quickly. i can still remember (I think it was) Chris McDermott and others lighting up cigarettes and smoking them on Footy Park after the game. It was as things were changing and I thought it a bit strange, but back in the day I remember smoking in shops and restaurants before I gave it up, and I am not as old as it may seem!

Glory be, when was smoking in shops banned?
