Will be kept on list but career in grave danger :(

Something needs to be done about that back 6, too slow, Shaw would've changed the dynamic.

Hurry up Smith!
Don't know about grave danger. He is in our best 22 even if every single player on our list is fit.

Apparently Kyle Hartigan was sitting in front of a mate of mine on a flight up to Brisbane this afternoon. Any chance we've placed Shaw on the LTI list and promoted Hartigan?

Just on 7 news here in Adelaide that Sam Shaw has torn his hammy pretty badly and will be out until mid-season.

Kid can't catch a break

EDIT: From the club

Bad luck for the kid. No-one likes to see things like that. The word "tear" always sounds bad too, hopefully it isn't too serious. Wish him well in getting back to it.:thumbsu:

There's hope for him to overcome the soft tissue injuries. Hartlett has had his share and now (touch wood) he seems to be stringing some games together after a few pre-seasons and good mgmt.

Neil Craig ruins another career....

In all seriousness, he has shown enough to play out his contract. We have few defenders and the one's we do are slow. And the fact our first pick in the next drafts will be 45 plus he is as safe as houses.
To be fair, Shaw had soft tissue injuries long before he arrived at the AFC. I don't think it's fair to blame this one on NC.

Not without announcing his upgrade. Plus it's going to be wet so either Rutten or Talia would need to be injured.

But his long term injury does give us the possibility of upgrading a rookie.

hahaha. I am sure some will:D.... I was merely taking the piss
I'll throw my hand up as someone who believes Craigy's philosophy would have been to push his limits and if he broke down permanently - so be it. If not, he would have a proven, hardened body to use in his AFL career.

In this case, however, Craig inherited a player who was already injury-prone from the outset.

Pretty hard to blame Craig at all actually - Shaw barely ever even made it to training while Craig was in charge :p Perhaps he saw what the rest of the players were being asked to do, and just chucked a two year sickie until the new coach came along!

Probably just getting the bloke use to the routine of travelling and seeing how the others prepare.

Otten a big chance to really stamp his name back as a regular.
If not CEY must be pleading with Godsy to leave him across half back for the next few weeks.

Terrible for Shaw but the one positive is Otten feeling secure in his position. Hopefully his confidence grows and he gets back to the running, rebounding half back he was before injury. Great stopping job R1 we just need a little more drive from him.

Agreed i thought some blokes were really stiff calling for his head after round one. His defensive work was great. Now hes got that back he needs to get his offensive side back to. And by the looks he'll have a pretty free run for 2 months at getting that back.
I cant imagine LT being selected ahead of him, and youd think CEY would need to string a solid 3 or 4 SANFL games together before he's considered
