hello fellow tigers just thought ill post an interesting idea by sheedy[who else lol}about having a 3 day cooling off period straight after the draft so clubs can on trade a player they have picked up from interstate who for some reason the club feels maybe best suited to stay in their home state.for example young coughlan [who well its well documented of his slight disappointment of being drafted to the tigers]we could on trade him to either the eagles or fremantle in exchange for a drafted victorian in the same draft.
i think the idea isnt the worse one he has come up with. id say there are young players out there who wont nominate for the draft for the very reason of the fear of moving interstate and it would benifit the clubs as far as getting a player they need who they have missed in the draft.
cheers

Or as a variant on the same theme, why not have a second trading period before the pre-season draft, where such players as Coughlan could be on traded to West Coast / Freo or we could have a second chance to offload Daffy!

You're a hard man, tiger_of_old. Daffy has really only had one bad season ... and one season (good or bad) does not make a career!

Still, the general idea of having a 24hr trading period before the pre-season draft doesn't seem like a bad idea.
