According to Mike Sheehan Roo was the 14th best in the league this year...behind the likes of Black, Hayes, Brown and Barry Hall?!

I always thought he was an idiot, but this just confirms it.

lol too right.

It's just makes me laugh how a so called "footy journalist" can know so little about the game:confused:

He did rate McLeod #2 in 2001.

I usually enjoy his work but this years list is like he has thrown 50 names up in the air and ordered them the way they landed.

For the record on last-this(?) season's form I'll take Tyson Edwards ahead of any the players between 40 and 50 (except maybe McLeod;) ).

He definitely didn't have a 2nd look at it. What really ****es me off about a lot of scribes is they look at what has gone before. I mean, James Hird #6? Jonathan Brown #10? And I think most Adelaide supporters would agree Ben Hart above Andrew McLeod is nonsense. And Mark Ricciuto #14? Maybe Mike Sheehan has been buying his cigarettes from David Granger.:D In my opinion Mark Ricciuto is not just your best player this year, he has been your best for about the last 3. I have a bit of a problem with Mal Michaels' #22, Matthew Pavlich's #26 and Brett Kirk's #37, too. Kirk at 26, Pavlich at 22 and Michael at 37 seems closer to the mark. And it looks very much as if Sheehan has put in Brogan to make up the numbers. For the player who was arguably best knock ruckman in the AFL from round 6 to round 19, and gave Adam Goodes a towelling, I would have expected more than a place behind luminaries such as Shane (no more tears) *Wakelin, Joel Smith, Fraser Gehrig and Anthony Rocca.
A good idea is to look at his pre-season top 50 and ask yourself, did that player do better/worse than the year before?
I'll stop here before I manage to do a Sheehan and offend everyone in the football world with my opinions.

*Joke courtesy of this morning's Herald-Sun.

You comments are on the money, mic59.

For a bloke who wouldn't have his job unless it was assumed he knew something about the game it was a half-arsed p*ss-poor effort.

Actually, I think Dean Brogan deserves to be in the top 50. In the middle half of the year he was dominating the ruckwork.

What really annoys me is the Riccuito, a man that won the Brownlow, is no.14. Did Hall, Hayes and Tredrea win the Brownlow? No. Did Riccuitio? Yes.

I thought that the Brownlow was awarded to the best players of the season.

I respect Mike Sheehan, and he's done a pretty god job with this list considering, but 14th for Ricciuto is crazy.
