Is Caro right? Should the club penalise Fev and suspend him from Thursday nights game?

4.20am five days out from Round 1... what does everybody think?

I'm sitting on the fence.... I'm not sure

Or is Archer right, You dont penalise the team just because 1 player stuffed up. To be honest whats he gonna learn if they suspend him. It was a stupid thing but its something you dont really need to learn off.

I guess it depends on what the clubs policy is for being out that late coming up to a game. If they have a curfew and he broke it then he should be made an example of.

He'll play, but should be dropped from the leadership group

I think the young guys know that he's not a role model anyway, Especially with guys like Judd and Stevens at the club.

If it was Russel or Bannister then they would be suspended without question.. Fev has a record of being stupid he probably should be suspended but i hope he isn't... Who really cares if he gets drunk... If he kicks a goal for every pint he has i'll be more than happy

Hes got to play - its round 1! bump him fom L-Group but play him. Were already lookin thin in the forward line!

he has stuffed up too many times, although he is a god leader on the field, doesn't set the right examples off the feild, shouldn't be in the leadership group. too important to suspend

Fine him, let him play, and put him on his last chance for the Leadership group. What he did is not really a big deal, and I doubt the players will lose any respect for him because of it. The club should resolve the matter quickly with minimum impact to the team. Round 1 needs to be our focus, not this.

Yes, he should play. If you suspend him, you will hurt the team more than Fevola. Richmond will have a sniff if he's not playing, and they are a greater chance of beating us. And with Fisher out, who will be our focal point up forward? Who will straighten us up? Hartlett?

Fine him and drop him out of the leadership group, and make him apologise to the pub owner. If you drop him, it will only hurt our chances of having a good start. Ratten will want to prove the naysayers wrong and winning is the top priority... as a team we would want to grow in confidence. Because if we lose to the Tigers, there will be no confidence - playing St.Kilda next round will be a lot harder.

Idiotic thing to do, but at the end of the day suspension is not the way to go. Give him a fine, possibly kick him out of the leadership group - and give him a bloody curfew or restriction on alcohol. He clearly seems unable to handle the grog, and his best season far and away was 06 when he swore of drinking durng the season. The club can't really force him to stop drinking, but hopefully they can hint at it and he'll be willing to cut back.

The points you guys make are all valid, but rather then thinking about Round 1, you should be thinking of the next 5- 10 years. Chris Judd has come to Carlton for a new start, he wanted to get away from behaviour issues in the West, he was made Captain, and this happens on the eve of the season.

What message does that give the likes of Gibbs, Murphy, Kruezer - these are 10 year players, and Juddy isn't that old.....

It's not like it's his first offence - I reckon they will drop him for either 1 or 2 games - anything less will be a major sign of weakness and all of Chris Judd's morals would be worthless.

Then we all know, it was always about the coin for Juddy, not a fresh start.

Sometimes you need to take 1 step back to go 3 steps forward, intersting to see which step they take?

I think that was a subtle attempt at a troll

Of course he will play! What he did was stupid I suppose given who he is, but come on it's a non issue really

Geez i wish he'd grow up but i'd prefer him to play R1 but i'd like to see him tossed out of the leadership group. Mind you, if that same group decide to suspend him then i'd support that decision too.

He's been allowed to get away with that type of behavior his whole career. Keep letting him get away with it and he'll never learn. What type of message does it send to the younger players that as long as you can play you can get away with bad behaviour?

I'm more concerned with the late night 5 days before the season kick-off rather than the urinating. A fine as well as either dropping from the leadership group and/or a suspended sentence hanging over his head to keep him in line,

Suspending him would be like a suspension from school, what does he get out of it? he doesnt play football for one week? Probably wont be much of a big deal for him.
But suspending him will affect the team more than it will affect Fevola himself. I say give him a fine and a big one at that, make him pay big money so it can make him think twice next time he commits something like this, because the money will be coming out of his hardearned.

An issue this trivial isn't going to create a big impact in the next 5 - 10 years. He'll cop his punishment and that will be that, but the focus must be winning games this year.

Chris Judd has come to Carlton for a new start, he wanted to get away from behaviour issues in the West, he was made Captain, and this happens on the eve of the season.

How can you speak for him when you have no idea what his feelings are on the matter?

What message does that give the likes of Gibbs, Murphy, Kruezer - these are 10 year players, and Juddy isn't that old.....

These players aren't children.

I reckon they will drop him for either 1 or 2 games - anything less will be a major sign of weakness and all of Chris Judd's morals would be worthless.

How convenient for your mob.

Kicking him out of the leadership group will be a worse punishment than suspension. Suspending him will only hurt the team.

Sometimes you need to take 1 step back to go 3 steps forward, intersting to see which step they take?

And sometimes you just need to go forward.

Sooner or later someone with authority at the Carlton Football Club has to decide wether or not all the players representing our team are serious about being successfull. Pissing in a public place at 4am 5 days before the start of the season is not acceptable. What do I tell my youngest son if Fev. doesn't run out on Thurs. night? The leadership group , coach,Sticks and Mr Pratt have an opportunity to twist Fev's testicles if they choose too and show all the young guys at the club that his behaviour is unacceptable.
Dropping him for the Richmond match may not be the right option but I bet a $50,000 fine would make him think twice about where he drains his weapon and what time he chases pussy!:(
