Should we be treating 2014 as a development year?

So we're meant to judge the development of our back 6 based on the "last month" of footy only (GC, Carlton, Hawks, WB games)? I'd like to see the full season stats before judging, and all stats that relate to our defense, not a selection made to paint us in a bad light.

We had a top 2 def with Langdon the number 1 intercept mark in the AFL and were restricting teams to 75 points or less.

I think this was always going to happen with our young and inexperienced defense. They were so good in the first 11 or so games of the season, so we know what they can do but it's a tough caper and it's especially hard for young defenders to keep at the rate they were going.

If we are talking about 'development years' then our defence is certainly going to be better for the run.

And no TD, our defence is not 'shit'.

Club thought it was a decent premiership chance.

The club sort of has to express that publicly when asked. The coaches would have known where we were at.
