If Dwayne is ever let inside Alberton again I will be surprised.

Thought he was going to orgasm when crows came back and strangely quiet when Port started getting on a roll.

Dick head
Has been for a fair while. I'm surprised that no-one at the club has called him out on it. He's become a Crows sycophant. Really commentates against us. Don't think he does so against other teams.

Our rucks couldn't get our midfielders into it. But I swear I've never seen Butters outworked so obviously. Just didn't will himself into the game after HT at all.
Honestly that game makes me worried he's gone.

Just didn't have his usual will.

Ticked all the boxes?
That’s modern Port Adelaide near enough is good enough is it?
lol we aren’t playing finals, have generational talent on the line and the AFL have just massively incentivised tanking which is further mandated by the entry of Tas.

H&A wins mean shit this year, it is all about developing the kids and maximising our draft hand

A lot of emotional marys because it was the crom.

We got treated pretty well by the umps and had 20 less inside 50s.

The big bonus out of that game is we used to be the nicks type team out there blowing chances non stop.

We have a structure and coaching now that allowed us to almost pinch that, against a hostile crowd, a team playing like it was their grand final, and far from the strongest team we've ever rolled out.

Yeah it sucks to lose, but helps our draft order and we look on the right path 👍🏼

Oh.. and Mitch, learn how to kick the ****ing easy ones FFS..

Hated the result, but surely - SURELY, that game was an advertisement of why the Showdown should be a stand alone game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not for the first 3 quarters and a bit, but the end was insane.

I posted the following in the game day thread. It’s better here.

Realistically, we played into their defensive set up for most of the game. It was totally different from the game against Geelong in that way.

It was that second half of the third quarter that killed us. We returned to stupid dump kicks out of the d50, straight to their extra numbers and it went immediately back in. If Aliir hadn’t played as though his life was on the line, we would have lost by a lot more.

Also, we didn’t prepare to go around Milera or make him accountable.

Butters had moments but his disposal was off all night. Visentini was great in the taps, initially but fell off.

Taking into account how badly we played and how many players failed to contribute at all, there is a lot of upside that you can take from that performance.

Clearly would have preferred the win. But looking at the big picture, the last three weeks have shown Port can match it with the big boys.

Carr has brought a solid game plan and tighter skills.

Adelaide were the better team. But it would have only taken a few minor things for the result to have changed.

Honourable losses suck. But, after this week, an honourable loss has a silver lining.

btw this will be completely forgotten but WTF was with Berry trying to dodge through multiple tackles running sideways and backwards near defence in the first half. 2 different times.

very strange!

Honestly that game makes me worried he's gone.

Just didn't have his usual will.
I don't think it's that, but his record in recent Showdowns is not of a big game player. It's the same in finals. He can't fight his way through the congestion. Almost becomes unrecognisable in the way he goes about it, and when he does get a hint of space, he rarely kicks efficiently.

Butters an all time stinker. Whoever manned him at stoppages usually won the clearance. Got done around the ground.

Nobody played tight enough on Milera.

Aliir and Evans were great. Wines a mixed bag but mostly good.

Competitive losses are ok for us

Read this somewhere but it’s so weird how erratic Butters possessions are. They are either clean and beautiful or just direct turnovers to the opposition.

There’s no other midfielder like that.

Seriously flabbergasted by Sweats' decision to hit to space. Hasn't he seen a Collingwood game in the last four years? If you're up, tap straight down to create repeat stoppages to kill the clock.
Sweet was the Crows best player all night.

It was mind boggling that he did that. You keep the ball nice and tight at your feet for a stoppage to occur.

Dumb ruckman.

Looked better than it was. They smacked us really. Shouldn't have been that close.
We lost to pretty much their second string lineup with no bench for 3 quarters.
About as bad of a performance as the west coast and north loss.

I know this is your schtick, but they had two injured players. They had 3 on the bench.

Having been over the past decade to watch the Saints games, I have grown to have enormous respect for your club and supporters.

I feel bad that the umpires killed you in that game like they did us 2 weeks ago against them. Such incidental contact to give a free kick at that last CB was BS.

Adelaide and Geelong arnt the big boys. Both sides probably won't play finals. Well Adelaide won't. We also just got beaten by their second string side without a bench. We'll show glimpses this year but we are a genuine bottom 4-6 side.

That hurts but to be honest we where 2nd best for most of the night. We were just a bit more efficient and the umps helped our cause to stay in touch.

Good news is that our rebuild should be relatively short if our current players keep developing and we can recruit smartly.

Midfield absolutely smacked for large parts by a bunch of triers and no names. Stagnant ball movement, no run from behind, costly fumbles. Very ordinary night for us.

That pretty much sums it all up.

We have some double digit IQ players on the list but he is bordering on single digit unfortunately
