Wellingham out is a big blow, and still not sure O'Bree and Ball in the same team is a good idea.

Good test for Wood first up against one of the best 2-3 ruck divisions in the league.

Shattered to see Wellingham out.

Can't say the same for Fraser.

And not exactly rapt to see O'Bree back, but with Sharrod out, it's the right choice.

I hope Wood fires, will mean Fraser is no certainty to return until he has a few VFL runs.

Sharrod has been playing as an inside mid more then outside, so we were a bit short on options to replace him

In fact in general with Sinclair, McCarthy and Thomas being injured we are a bit light on with midfield replacements unless its Obree and Lockyer

Great to see MM continue to show faith in Reid, Dawes and Brown.

Without Presti, the only other option is Leigh Brown, and that would only be as a forward anyway, as he hasn't played back in ages.

Looks like Presti is still a week away, would love him next week for Pavlich up forward.

Surely you people dont actually think Wellingham is injured

I would have preferred to see Lockyer/Jack come in and Beams just play more on the ball.

Reasonable replacements

The older blokes still can contribute....and having been dropped they will be fighting to produce to ensure they can stay in the team. O'Bree will hopefully have a big impact and help us win the clearances.

Wood best replacement for Fraser considering the number of talls that the roos have!

Great depth, which is a good thing.

On Wellingham;

“We are taking a precautionary move with Sharrod and we expect him to be available next week,” chief of football Geoff Walsh told collingwoodfc.com.au.

He's simply not playing because he is a little sore and we have 2 six day breaks in a row.

He will play next week, that's what I read into it anyway.

Dunno, but I hope to god he isn't, really don't want O'Bree to play either, our midfield is looking very "classy" at the minute and O'Bree coming in ruins that.

O'Bree will offer nothing to the team IMO, in ALL of his games this year he has looked old, slow, and completely lost with the pace of the game.

Bad Selection.

But on the other hand, how good is it to see Woody in there, hope to god he has a good game and keeps Josh out for a few weeks.

I know O'bree has found a bit of form in the VFL but, he is fairly slow. I would've brought in Buckley for a bit of speed. Happy to see Wood in though.

This
and mick always goes on about not playing the young players everyweek so he is doing that with Wellingham this week. Have to keep him fresh for laiter on.

Shattered about Boots :( Considering how we've played when O'Bree and Ball have been in the same side, I'm definitely going to be holding my breath this week. We seem to be putting players on ice pretty quickly this season, good to see strong medical management I guess.
