CIK, interesting to see your "warped" view of footy again, lol

Tongue in cheek Chris. There are lots of new children here who don't quite know how to take me.;) Your boys are looking alright too. I have enjoyed watching them play this year.

His ranting is hypocritical to say the least.

I wonder if Schwabby approached Lethal Leigh, or Dipper, or Dermie after one of many games when those blokes dished out some very "unfortunate" punishment on some poor bloke.

Were they all disgusting, or did Peter have his eyes shut?

I don't mind people commenting on the incident at all, but for Hawthorn supporters who were old enough to see these blokes stomp, bash and end the careers of footballers, now labelling him a disgrace to the game and even call for his delisting, is pretty damn amusing.

Sort of like the Kevin Walsh one in the 84 GF.

and then North get a charity goal because "tough man" Archer does a Matty Lloyd

Please explain as from what l saw Everitt grabs Archer pushs him a couple of times to the neck and the umpire gives him a free ,l didn't see Archer dive to the ground so how did he do a Matty Lloyd.l agree it was a soft free kick but blame the umpire not Archer.

Hook, line & sinker;)

True, true

I remember the good old days when we went after each other with sledge hammers, lol (Steve would be in on this too)

The Roos have been unfortunate this season, but some good kids there will come on strong, I like Petrie as a solid player.

Sinclair will get about 5 I reckon, the AFL bosses hate incidents like this.

Regarding Port, we've shown some good signs, but we haven't killed off teams when we should have, they have to do that to become a great team

"Picioane was discharged from hospital early on Sunday morning and preliminary X-rays indicated he has a compound fracture of the cheekbone, which is being treated with pain-killers and antibiotics.

He will have further scans later in the week and is likely to have surgery to insert a plate on Friday."

Last night when I saw the incident I thought 4 weeks for sure. At that stage we didn't know about the facial fractures.

After reading the above on the AFL site it would have to be 5 to 6 given Bickley's penalty on Wakelin, wouldn't it??

didnt Piacione get 2 weeks for crudely elbowing a collingwood player to the jaw earlier this year. Lonie or clement I think it was. Given that I think Scwabs self righteous indignation is a bit much.

Get your black & white glasses off for just a second. Oh that's right, no one's supposed to know who your team is:p

It's 2003 northy, get with the times.

By the way there have been other off the ball hits by Hawthorn players since Swab has been coach which he did nothing about. His ranting is hypocritical to say the least.

Name em, and try getting the name of the coach right while your at it.

Wont hang the bloke (Sinclair) out to dry for one incident. Will get suspended, what he cops there will be punishment enough as far as I'm concerned. I hope Picoane is okay first and Sinclair get appropriate punishment/suspension second.

As to continue 'what about Matthews, what about Dipper, Scott, Brereton'. Firstly half of the posters of Hawk persuasion probably never saw them. Secondly those that did saw them saw them in an era of brawlers (Dietrich, Keenan, Mclean, Williams, Edmond, Andrews). Everyone had em, big deal. Different times and like BB said, try getting with em.

Jess, do the time and be a little more circumspect if you get in that sort of position in future.

how about zero? check it out in real motion not slow motion and you'll see it was not intentional but a rather unfortunate accident where sinclair was trying to protect himself. I for one will stand by sinclair, he is a ball player and would never intentionally go out and injure someone like all of you seem to think he did, fleming's was much worse!

Yeah, right. Look at the photo... poor Jess was just about to get pumelled by a bloke with both feet on the ground, elbows IN and watching the play. Its just as well Sinclair pulled out, he might have got really hurt....

SHOULD get 6 plus if the tribunal have any common sense (made Flemming's look like a love tap).

BUT in the tradition of showing no consistency, the tribunal will probably give him 4-5.

Will be interesting as to how the tribunal play it - they may give him something like "4 weeks plus next years pre-season competition" or something like that. From memory the tribunal now must take into consideration pre-season and practice matches as separate to "matches"... in the past if they gave him 6 matches he would have been back for Rnd 1 2004 after missing the next two weeks plus a few praccie matches and preseason cup matches...

Yep he sure did. He missed out on the 1989 grand final

If he's going to be out for a while, just as well Jess has other strings to his bow. Did anyone else see "Matt" on Australian Idol? Spooky.

He deserves 6 weeks.

Sinclair always had "sniping" inclinations, I clearly remember him playing for Freo at Princes Park against the Dogs throwing a few little punches under packs and going for the head in sheparding attempts.

This recent incident is not out of character, he was justifiably labelled a sniper years ago.

This time he went too far and should be severely punished, there is simply no excuse for elbowing someone in the head.

That's disappointing, I've always considered Jess Sinclair a very fine player ...... but, anyone who touches my Hawk boys, they pay the price!!

Similiar to the one that Picciaone dished out to Lonie behind play earlier this year (round 12?). Only difference was the bleeding and a broken bone).

4 weeks would be a fair whack.

A wasted strike but would've been worth the penalty if he had saved it for Carey this week. Doubt Carey would get much sympathy if he was on the receiving end of that elbow.

Only difference?

Picioane was reported for making contact to Lonie's chest/throat with a forearm, Sinclair used an elbow to the temple.

Tell me again why they're similar.

Jess will cop 3-5 weeks... thoroughly deserved.

But to digress slightly...
Why is it that people think jumping into the air automatically makes you guilty of recklessness? It comes up again and again...
I can understand needing tucking the elbow in, but if you are about to take a hit from someone, your natural reaction is to leap into the air, firstly to try and get your head clear of the collision, and secondly because it is easier to ride the bump without your feet on the ground.
