Round 1 :
North kicked 4.3 to our 2.0 in 1st quarter but we managed to win
7 scoring shots to 2
Round 2 :
Just comprehensively towelled
Round 3 :
Carlton kicked 9.2 in 3rd quarter but we won
Round 4 :
Dogs kicked 5.4 to our 1.2 in 1st quarter and thats about the margin we lost by.
9 scoring shots to 3
Round 5 :
Saints kicked 7.6 to our 3.1 and thats about the margin
13 scoring shots to 4
Against our opponents
1st QTR : 13 goals to 23
2nd QTR : 22 goals to 25
3rd QTR : 27 goals to 21
4th QTR : 14 goals to 20
Last night I took a friend who is a newly converted Bomber fan. She was asking during the 1st half why were we so bad. As I was explaining to her about the new game plan, risk taking, new coach, young players etc etc we then embarked on the 3rd quarter rampage to get back into the game.
As the 4th quarter panned out she made the observation that the first half killed us, we used all the petrol tickets getting back into the game and subsequently petered out in the 4th
Sadly this is becoming quite a theme but as its a developmental year Im willing to cop it. Remember that Geelong in '06 lost 2 games by 100 plus points I think..!
Stick with em, things will improve provided we dont lose the ambition...
As for our backline...
Hmmm....
