Maybe the prospect of a trade has shaken him up and the result will be a player that regularly plays to his ability. What a plus that would be for us
 
believe it when i see it! he is just was to lazy loves drinking, i know people who have seen him out on the town non stop since the end of the season i know its the off season but for a guy with his reputation woulsnt you think he would lay low and try to get himself right? would of loved to see a trade for him this season because he has let us down every season since breaking his ankle!

As for the number of threads. Do what those of us that a fully functional set of neurones do regarding threads that we find uninteresting - DON'T READ EM. Sheesh!

Spot-on c2r. Ya get naysayers on all forums. If SJ gets back to something approaching his true ability he could turn out to be our best 'recruit' in 2007. Let's hope he acts on what he says.
 
Has traces of the customary off-season puff-up pieces (a "big pre-season" due etc).

I'm not sure if his recent adventure in trade week put me off, but I've recently just grown sick of Dog and all the talk of a big pre-season, a better ankle, full fitness, the unfulfilled potential (whether the mouth be his, the coaches, or any commentators).

There are actions, and there are words. I want more of the former please.

Thanks for that Jubby. I was merely asking a question and you answered it. I would love to see SJ excel, beyond all expectations. But I think i'll take the "wait and see" approach. A leopard doesnt change his spots.. at least not overnight.

ps. Anyone know if 11 threads on one player in 19 days is a record?

Good onya! Maybe one day we'll get something inoffensive - positive even. Vaguely intelligent is asking too much.
 
i remember reading a similar article about sj a few years ago in the age. Basically he philosophised how he'd let his team mates down for breaking his ankle in such a stupid accident and that he'd be working hard to get their respect back.
Fast forward two years later and sj has seemingly regressed, so forgive me if I'm sceptical about his latest promises, which to me sound more like the empty promises of a life long boozer pledging to get off the hooch.

His words mean little to me. I'll believe it when I see it SJ.
He might be able to play good and work hard for a day/week/month but I don't think he can stick it out. As for now I still dislike him A LOT and think he is just a lazy showpony who is mighty lucky to still be on our list. Pisses me off how he gets so much credit from people when he does so little... IMO.

The object of the thread was to get a diversity of opinion, not for people to necessarily agree. For a sheila that finds the topic boring, thanks for your FOUR posts.:D

Anyway, AM may be just making the point that the trade thing might shake-up SJ, fair enough. But isn't it my right (and place) to dispute that opinion. (Going on the colourful history of SJ, excuse me if im a little doubtful on the whole thing). I just hate seeing talent wasted, so needlessly.
 
I think this whole thread is way off topic, however if my memory serves me correctly, this is an opinionative webiste (i.e. forum), therefore Shell and whoever else can say what ever they want, when they want as long as its within the rules and not directly slandering another person.

AmmoMan - Give me a break! we all talk garbage at times (myself included) and i've heard you talk some utter *****e, however i did not feel it was my duty to advise you to stop posting.... Practice what you preach. If you dont like it, dont read it!
 
As Mr S said, I think we both got a bit carried away. Suppose I got a bit pi$$ed off with the remark about SJ and booze. There have been other comments on various threads about his personal life which I thought were a bit over the top. But you're right, it's a forum and we should be able to post what we like providing it's not malicious.
BTW.If I do write 'garage' feel free to point it out. If fact, please point to the "utter *****e" I've been responsble for, I'd like to re-acquiant myself with it.:o
Seeing I'm apparently 65, better hit the sack.;)
