Besides the obvious reasons stated in other threads the reason i see Skipworth being delisted is because Ladhams cant as he is still contracted for another year and unless he is traded i imagine Skipworth will lose his spot on the list!

Is Skippy's contract up??

Both James Gallagher and Robert Shirley will get delisted before Hayden Skipworth, unless they are under contract. But l can not see Hayden Skipwoth being delisted this season.

i think all three should be delisted, as they are both not up to AFL Footy, however i cant see them all being delisted...

Gallagher is the most likely to be delisted of the three...

Agree, for the club to become a legitimate premiership contender all 3 must go as they are too small and not generally up to the standard being set by the top AFL on ballers, but like you said can not see it happening

this sounds ******ed and it may well be, but i would rather see skipworth with the ball than burton - at least with skipworth he is going to think about where he is going to kick the ball,

but he will be delisted along with gallagher

but i did hear a rumour that burton maybe getting traded because he is unhappy at the crows at the moment

Where abouts have you found out about player contracts? Is there somewhere on the web that has a list of players and contract periods? Would be interested to know if Mark Stevens contract is up.

The problem with Skipworth is, yes he thinks about where he is going to kick the ball, but the end product is more often than not a 40-metre-lollipop to no-one or nowhere in particular...

That does not sound ******ed at all, Burton can run and leap but is crap in his delivery and decision making.

Probably is unhappy because the rest of his teamates probably keep shouting "you idiot" at him on the field.

like you said it is ******ed! :p

skippy is the one player who has a less decision making skills than burton!! his skills are not great, and when he gets the ball he always runs in a little circle and isnt intsinctive with the ball for me id rather have burton with the ball but its personal choice hey ;)

The frustrating thing about Burton is he could be a great player if only he just did not do those stupid things he does.

Brett Burton is our Matthew Pavlich.

He is far more valuable as a forward - as Stiffy and I are always so quick to point out, he booted 52 goals while played for substantial periods from full-forward in 2002 - but because of his exceptional aerobic capacity he is almost always deployed as a midfielder/loose-man flanker, despite the fact his disposal is rubbish and his greatest asset is his marking and goalkicking ability.

People say that Birdman's ability to run all day means he'd be wasted as a permanent forward, but I'd rather see him boot upwards of 50 goals a season and give us another focal point up forward rather than be treated to episode after episode of Aerobics Birdman Style...

Well you can throw Bode into the equation also then.

Bode IMO will be a very valuable player for the crows next year if he gets a decent run.
He is better than Gags Shirley and Skippy, Bode is a goal scoring midfielder which we desperately need with our non exsistant forward line.

What he said :D

Ladhams definetly won't be delisted. Stevo runs out of contract but we will give him until december to prove his fitness, if he can't we will delist him and pick up someone in the pre-season draft.

Gags is gone, Shirley will stay so it would appear that Skippy is the next one to go if in fact we down the path of delisting a lot of players.

The big clean out might not be as big as first thought due to the retirement factor.

Smart, Carey and Burns makes 3, and Stevo will almost certainly make 4.

Gallagher is the gonest of gone gooses, but Parker will probably get an upgrade, so that still leaves it at 4.

You'd think, ignoring trades, it has to be at least 5 - with 4 in the national draft and 1 in the pre-season.

On that basis Skippy would have to be a dead duck.

Except that you are forgetting that we were running a player short this year as it is so really Skippy could be safe by your prediction of 4 ND picks and 1 PS pick

I did forget that for the moment, young Stiffmeister. ;)

Adelaide's normal pattern is to go for 4 ND and 1 PS.

Again, leaving out trades, the very max we are likely to go to is 5 ND and 1 PS, which would decide Skippy's future.

What do people think?? Skippy or a 5th round draft pick?

Also, assuming Stinger wants to head home, that is probably going to give us another pick rather than a player swap.

I definitely don't share everyone's sentiments on Gallagher... he was misused by Ayres...

On top of this, you guys have really got a bad case of "small is bad" syndrome. Small onballers are not always a bad thing... IMO Gags has the same build as Greg Williams, and has a tonne of potential that Ayres was too afraid to unleash...

Gags has been given ample opportunities over the years, but has lacked consistency. Also, he is a completely different build/player to Williams who was built like a tank & could also play a bit!

Stood next to James in person? He's not tiny...

And yeah, the Diesel comparison is probably a little off, but what I mean is that he is at least well built...
