Has anyone killed Kvenel in Volunruud? If so, please tell me how. Every way I try I get destroyed. About to attempt it in werewolf form.
Worst part is, there is a shout to be learned right to the side of him, and I want it!

Edit: got him to nearly half health in werewolf form. There is a really strong drougr with him, and he summons a frost atronarch as well. Very hard fight.

Edit #2: Killed Kvenel, but then the drougr and frost atronarch stayed, and killed me. This is impossible. I can't tell if the drougr is summoning the atronarch, or if it's Kvenel. If I go after the drougr first, Kvenel will kill me in 1 second. But if I go after Kvenel, the atronarch and drougr end up killing me. So hard :(

You know your a massive nerd when your favourite thing about a rpg is the menu/inventory screens. So slick!

Having said that thinking about returning it as I don't like the fighting much and wish there was a regular unintrusive autosave every 5-10 minutes. Or at least a button that lets me quicksave (speaking of which, does 1 button really need to be dedicated to Waiting? Couldn't that have been buried in a menu somewhere? When would you ever need to use this function!). Feel like Roger Murtaugh.

Kvenel is finally dead. Took out the drougr (who it turns out was the one summoning the atronarch). Just flamed the shit out of him until he died. Then went into werewolf form and killed kvenel using the knockdown move. Huzzah!

Does anyone know where I can get some good Destruction spells? I'm currently unable to train/buy anything from the college as I am currently in the process of retrieving the magnus(sp?) staff and no one at the college will sell me stuff.

currently in the process of having my arse repeatedly handed to me by a Blood Dragon. I'm with Lydia, (housecarl?) and I've hit it with arrows, my sword, magic, shouts and I've yet to get it below approx 40% of health from 4 attempts. Round 5 is just about to begin however!

Edit: Round 5 proved to be a successful one, as I was able to hit it with the Marked for Death shout at the start of the battle (I missed the first two attempts) which made things easier. It still took me a while, and I used a lot of potions in order to survive, but the soul is mine as is another Thu'um!

Try the mage at Dragonreach in Whiterun. He sells spells. That's where I got mine. All the Jarl's mages do, im pretty sure.

In any case, I still prefer the novice level spells. Flame and sparks.

Thanks for that, also what level are you?

Edit: Also does anyone know if Lydia comes back? She died a while ago and was wondering if there is anyway to get her again.

How and where do you people get all this time? :( I've only had half an hour since it's launch to sit down and play it. Do you people work?

Nope, I have nothing to do since my legs are screwed :D. The beauty of it is I get a lot of Skyrim time. The bad part is my legs are dead, so it's not all greatness.

Nah I played oblivion so I have some sort of idea of the basics etc..... The game just sends me on quests and the bosses are ridiculously hard, like the quest I'm talking about a guy on YouTube barely beats him and he had already locked the game and he was struggling.

And now I'm starting to junk Mage class is rubbish compared to the others.

Worst case scenario just change the difficulty. Had no need yet but I also feel invincible. If I happen to die suddenly against an opponent I just go in with more stealth.

9 almos 10, just doing a few quests in Morthal ATM, have you finished the Magnus quest yet?

What's the Magnus quest? Is it on the main storyline? Im only up to getting that horn on the main quest.

I have killed about 15 dragons. They are so easy in werewolf form. Haven't actually had a tough fight against one and most are by myself. I don't think I have got to a really hard one yet.

The choice between hands and legs would be an easy one. Glad you make the most of it.:thumbsu:

Where are you finding all these dragons? I've been all over the place and haven't seen one in about 6 levels.

They just keep rocking up. Maybe I got a good copy.

Not at the moment :( My course is basically finished for the year so I have too much time for Skyrim.

The couple quests I got stuck on the main bosses were almost 1 shotting me with there staffs, I worked around it by taking my time and hiding around rocks etc and dodging the skill shots but it was definitely a quest above my lvl range.

The Magnus quest is started at Winterhold at the college, you join the college of Winterhold which is a mages guild and you do a few small quests for them and they then send you to find the Magnus staff, finding it isn't hard but the boss who holds it 1 shots me.

So the combat is still shit VD?

That's the one thing that's kept me from getting into either Oblivion or Fallout, how terrible one of the big and main thing in the game is.

Some say they can overlook it, but it's so hard for me when it's really a very dominant feature that often feels so bad to use through both stiff controls and no real proper feedback half the time.

Just gotten to level 10, had my second dragon fight just earlier while on level 9 which was quite easy as he was fighting a giant so I just sat back and threw some fire to do my part. Have spent basically 12 or so hours around Whiterun and Winterhold doing quests and are just now starting to venture off to the East for a look around.

Ok. Pick up my new comp tomorrow, and more likely than not I'm going to go buy this game even though I've paid $50 to have one shipped from o/s. I just wish I knew where I could sell it, you'd think for $50 there'd be people out there wanting to buy it :( Maybe not in ~2 weeks though sigh.

Never trusting myself to wait for games again =/
