I'm a level 27 Redguard at the moment and I'm pretty much unstoppable in any fight. Once you get the hang on blocking you can breeze past any enemy. That, and also having a level 80 one-handed doesn't hurt.

I've only been doing side missions so far. Completed all of the Companions and Dark Brotherhood stuff, just about to finish the liberating side quest, then I think I'll do Theives.

Loving it.

This game is funny sometimes.
This side quest where i had to search someone's Room, I could get into their house but this room was always locked (adept)
After 3 broken lockpicks, i decided to steal the persons key but the key doesn't work.
I then decided i would come back at certain hours to see if someone had the door open.... no luck.

Alas..... the tower stone would allow me open the lock. I travel there and would use it once before going back to my usual Ritual stone.
Finally returning to the house...

THE DOOR IS FRIGGEN OPEN NOW??

Brilliant game. Combat is fine, stick to strategies.

Level 12 now been exploring the majority of the south and southwest. Joined companions, brotherhood and theives guild but have not dived deep into any yet. Only done enough main quests to make random dragon encounters available.

On the way to a dragon (bounty received from bar in riften) I got attacked by 2 dragons! One killed the other, I absorbed the soul then killed the remaining dragon. Awesome. Then killed the bounty dragon. Theyre not too hard, summoning spells can distract them with animals who also attack. Fight them in open land and wait till they land.

Playing ps3, no freezing whatsoever yet.
High elf, light armour, destruction and one handed is what I'm concentrating on.

Will play again as a nord warrior.

Have it on ps3 and has frozen twice so far. Loving the game so far, currently doing the winterhold college quests. One question though not sure if it's been answered but if I complete the main story am I still able to go back and do the side quests?

I watched a video earlier on YouTube and the guy was doing a quest and durin the video he said that he had already finished the game and was finishing up some of the side quests, so if we are to take the guys word then one could assume that, yes, we can go back and finish side quests.

The game has unlimited side quests once you finish the main quest. Not to mention any DLC's that will become available.

On a side note, If anyone finds they can't open a lock just send your teammate to do it. I had a chest in a dwarven ruin behind a gate which I couldn't open without the key and I just sent my partner to unlock it and he walked straight through the gate.:)

very clever

Same, became werewolf last night before calling it quits. Did move onto the quest to kill the Silver Hand group but I had this weak guy following me cos he wanted to help with the quest with restoring the tree or something. He keeps dying so went to reload.

edit - How good is the werewolf finishing move!

Mate of mines already hit level 50+.... Think he needs to turn it off.

Walked into a random cottage last night and was set alight by a dark caster, no provocation or anything :(

Amount of times I keep getting killed by random groups is starting to annoy me...

Muggers with glowing green weapons
Covenant Inquisitor or something
Giant

The Magnus quest is started at Winterhold at the college, you join the college of Winterhold which is a mages guild and you do a few small quests for them and they then send you to find the Magnus staff, finding it isn't hard but the boss who holds it 1 shots me.

Yeah, im like level 16 and he was almost one shotting me too, his insta cast lightning is ridiculous.

I didnt give up though, I hid behind a pillar, strafed out and back to trigger his lightning, popped out again and dropped a fire rune under him BLAM, ~3% of his HP gone, Rinse and repeat for 20mins and the staff of magnus is mine. I am now the Arch-Mage of the Casters College :D

The loot you get from this boss is awesome its:
Staff of Magnus: Drains Magicka from the target, if at 0 magicka drains health. And Morokei (Mask): Increased mana regen by 100%

Whats everyones tactic for the random Dragon encounters?

Killed a few so far, as a squishy caster I look for a big tree/rock to hide behind to shelter from their breath attacks and then pick my spots similar to my above boss strat. Use Bows when theyre in the air etc, stun with shouts and pile on the lightning when theyre grounded.

Yeah I did the same thing except used Firebolt which took forever, the item he drops is amazing and then the item u get for becoming an Archmage means you recover magicka very quickly.

Also did you encounter a bunch of bandits and a dragon at the college? I walked out of the door and was ambushed by bandits and dragons lol, unlucky for then I had juts bought new skills, fireball, lightning cloak and stone flesh and they couldn't touch me. :)

Was starting to really hate this game with all of the bugs. So frustrating. Then I stumbled upon maique the liar in the wilderness. In love again. My fab TES character by far.
What does he do? I was sneaking around when I noticed him and fired an arrow at him. He refused to talk to me after that. After a while when things settled down, I couldn't find where he had gone.

Nah, I hadnt slept since stealign the dark brotherhood contract, so when I snoozed in my new Archmage quarters I got kidnapped and taken straight to the shack.

Anyone got good places to sell gear? Got like 20k worth of stuff to sell stashed in a chest but sick of running around trying to find places to sell it that will a ) give a decent price and b ) actually have more than 700gold on them.

the worst is in the snow mountain to the east...man stuff there just doesnt stop attacking you.

I had a giant that decapitated me with one hit last night while I was on a long walk half way to my destination...pissed me off big time

I always try and find a high point that hasnt got enough room to land on...the dragon will eventually land nearby and you can rain dont arrows on him, and when he try to breath fire/ice on you just step back and let the edge of the hill/cliff shield you

no sure...just sell a bit each day as the seller will get a reset amount of money daily or so. also, what is your speech lvl? because you may not get even close to 20k as the seller will rip you off in offers...so finding a seller with heaps of cash might not be required until you build up speech

I have stopped selling stuff. If I get something of particular value I just put it in my chest. I have about 25000 gold atm and I just use that on spells and training.

I also like to pimp out my follower (whoever it is at the time) with top shelf stuff.

My followers keep dying though.

I've stopped using followers for the time being. Some of them are ok, but some of them are just so god damn stupid. When im sneaking, they just run around behind me, then whatever im going to kill is alerted to my presence.

yeah I stopped using them as well as I build my archery up while walking to destinations by hunting animals...the followers always make heaps of noise

anyone become a vampire? or are people waiting to finish the main quests? Once I don't need to rely on talking to people I am going to get vamp'd out!

Absolutely hated being a vampire in Oblivion. It was horrible. Never doing that again. You have to keep out of the sunlight for god sake! Who wants to just run around at night? I can't even think of anything good about it :p

If you are a werewolf you wont be able to turn into a vampire as well, since you can't get diseases as a werewolf. So you will have to cure yourself of that first.
