Just got home from work. The first thing I did was turn on my computer and go straight to this thread, hoping I would read that Skyrim has broken street date and I'd have to jump in my car and zip down the road to my local JB. Today is not my lucky day, it seems. Oh well, there's always tomorrow!
Starting to have a think about how I want to play the game. I played Oblivion as a Dark Elf and basically relied on destruction magic. I played Fallout 3 as a sniper and told myself that I wouldn't play New Vegas as a sniper, but alas, I played NV as a sniper. I guess this means I will probably use a lot of destruction magic in Skyrim. Has anyone else put much thought into what type of character they want to play?
. Will probably use blades again, have always preferred them. But the magic looks pretty awesome in this, so I just don't know.I've basically never played an rpg, but the trailer makes this look pretty sweet, and you guys seem to be freaking out over it. Think I'll give it a go

Just but it, no explanation neededCan people explain the fascination with these games for someone who has never played them? What do you actually do in them?
Might pick up a copy once uni exams are over.

Well, they have the main quest line, which you can just choose to follow straight away, but they also have a lot of side quests to do. You can choose what sort of player you want to be. You can use magic, blades, blunt weapons, bow and arrow, even go around fist fighting people. You choose what race you want to be at the start, then customize your character as you see fit.
So in short, it's a fantasy RPG, where you can choose how you want to play, where you want to play, and how quick you want to go through it, etc.
I'd like to add that the worlds are huge and the game is geared towards exploration.

It'll break tomorrow. I'm pretty confident.
It seems to be the recent trend, both Batman AC and Battlefield were released early.Just guessing or?
It'll break tomorrow. I'm pretty confident. I'll likely still buy it even though it probably won't be released on Steam until Friday.
I will set my alarm for 8:45, check this thread firstly, then call EB, then run as fast as I can if it does break.
Don't release dates usually break at 2-3pm?
