Anyone planning on never using fast travel?

Me, although I say that now and may change my mind at some point if I forgot something from a town on the other side of the map.

Has anyone here bought a horse? What are the benefits of buying one instead of stealing it?

I bought one very early on. Whenever you fast travel it will appear next to you. Not sure if this will happen if you steal it.

Loving the Dark Brotherhood questline. Also the dungeons. They are so varied, fun, and challenging. All of the things Oblivion didn't have.

Playing as a Wood Elf archer this time. It feels easy mode at times, when I can just one or two shot everything in the room from stealth but then when I miss and get spotted I get destroyed!

There is just so ****ing much you can do in this game. I've spent ages trying to get my smithing levels up but now I need to go and mine my own ore. Bloody hard to find the veins, anyone have any tips?

Just killed first dragon and went back to that main town. Shot fireball in the air and everyone starts attacking me...now 90% of the town is dead.

As Cohzee said, if you fast travel, the horse appears next to you (if you bought it). It doesn't if you stole it.

I think a group of bandits killed Shadowmere, because he hasn't been appearing next to me when I fast travel now.

Havent played today, because for some reason my girlfriend took the tv to her grandparents Having withdrawals.

Up to 25k gold Will soon be a lot less though.

I'm level ten. Put quite a few hours into it, no fast travelling...... And I still haven't come across a dragon! My mate who is at a similar level has met and defeated 4?

Yeah, I'm level 12 and only come across one after the first one that you kill. But I would've been ****ed if it wasn't for a mammoth doing 3/4 of the damage to the dragon. How the hell is a melee character meant to take one of those bad boys down by themselves?

Had about 8-9 dragons now. Also had a re-kill for one that reappeared as a quest and one that flew away.

Got a few souls stored up.

I have joined Winterhold, Compainions, Legion Empire in Solitude Thieves guild and just completed the start to join the brotherhood by killing the old lady.

Anyone got married yet? I have the amulet you need to attract attention, just need to find the perfect, big breasted, blonde Nord...

there's a iron ore mine near whiterun. i think its called fort neverhold?

Apparently not. I also found out about the shouts running out. It was sad. I thought they would be unlimited, but thinking about it, it makes sense why they aren't.

level 8, got a new word from doing the mages guilds quest in saarthal, can freeze people but too bad i dont have the requirements to do it yet.

Still learning the game but its just hard figuring out what to do half the time, also got one of those unusual gems myself.

Hmm I should probably stop using the shouts just for giggles then.

On a side note I haven't had any trouble collecting dragon souls i've 5-6 unused ones.

Also if you happen to go to Mistwatch don't tell the bandit-wife that you'll tell her husband that she's dead or whatever, then kill her...as you need her to finish the mission.

I killed my first dragon outside of a mission earlier, didn't save it and got killed by some soldiers shortly after!

This game keeps getting better and better though.

Was an interesting mission where a husband cant find his wife, when you find her she tells you to give him something. Then kill her, take her gold, tell the husband you found the item ... he rewards you .. talk to him again and tell him she's dead and he gives you the item you just gave him as well

Loving the game, level 8 now, no dragons. Assuming I need to finish the mission for the jarl concerning the dragon before they appear in the wild.

level 22 now about 10 dragons down. About 35 missions going at once.

The forbidden Legend quest has some epic fights in it. The one I just completed against Sigdis took about half a dozen attempts

Don't think there are going to be many views in the game better than appraoching Winterhold from the north.

Easier as Melee TBH, cast a spell at a dragon and it does F*** all damage, stun them with a shout and hit them with a sword and they lose decent chunks.

edit: ok this is all explained in "the way of the voice" quest,which i just completed.

Just checked the official game guide about shouts running out and can't find any mention of them having to be recharged.
Each shout consists of three words(lvls) with each word requires a dragon soul from a defeated dragon, so 3 souls to complete one shout.
A shout can be used with one word but becomes more powerful with each word added.On ps3 tap R2 for lvl1,Briefly hold for lvl 2, Hold R2 for full shout but takes longer to recharge.

I havnt read much of the guide yet,dont want spoilers, so i could be wrong about them needing to be recharged.

Anyone done the mage quests yet?

I went straight there from the start of the game pretty much and I am stuck in the Staff of Magnus quest. Have to focus some ocular thingmybob using frost and fire spells and the shit just aint happnin. Investigoogled this and a few others seem to have had similar problems.. could be a bug although somebody said they tried reloading their save and it worked.

Anyone else experienced this?

I've got the 360 version and I've had 3 lock up crashes so far. First one was while I was running from the dragon in the opening sequences..

Really? I'm duel wielding magic and killed heaps of dragons no problems, I put all my points in destruction and just duel firebolt everything no hassles.
