Any player under 200cms is not a genuine ruckman, so only the supremely hopeful or desperate would count them.Another "Port needs a ruckman" Phantom Draft
Do you guys bother to to do any research, or just go with the superficial flow?
Have a read of another post I did
Matt Lobbe had a terrific 2nd half of the SANFL season once he transferred to West Adelaide and played as their number 1 ruckman.
Brogan has another good 2 to 3 seasons in him, remember he came into footy at around 23 years old.
Jarrad Redden at 18 years old, 202cm and 95kg is no pinch hitter beanpole.
Daniel Stewart is probably more a forward that can ruck & Jackson Trengove is a key position player.
Having 22 year old Melbourne born & raised Daniel Bass, at 198cm & 100kg, is some more insurance, plus I believe we will rookie list another junior ruckman.
So, do you still reckon we'll use any of picks 8, 9 or 16 on another "unproven beanpole kid"?

Naitanui is 201cms with a terrific leap and Cox is 204cm mobile big man.
Yes these two are the equal of any combination but how do you propose to compete?
Take them on with undersized players or take a rookie.
I think Port will take Vardy if available but now Cameron Cloke has been linked to you guys you might just pick up another undersized option.
Good Luck with that.
Regarding Port Adelaides ruck situation, Port are in a river in Egypt. They are in de fuc**** Nile. I don't care how many blokes on Port's list that they call ruckmen. They have one old, broken down, often injured and frequently suspended ruckman.
Other
than that, they have Trengove who is not a ruck,
has injury concerns and has not played a game.
Then they have 4 or 5 physcially underdeveloped
SANFL reserves ruckmen. Get real Port. you need
a ruckman, in fact you need 2 ruckmen.

18yo and is likely to grow a little more.BTW, Vardy is "only" 198cm, so he too is not a genuine ruckman?
you get your wish, Vardy linked elsewhere and Cloke looks like being selected by you in the PSD = I must change this pick.So too does Lobbe & Stewart whilst Redden is 202cm and taps the ball with skill
You are using double standards
Melbourne out of the equation and Brisbane's first pick at 27, Salary cap relief with McPhee almost certain to head back to Freo. You will get ball IMO, will be a big asset.good draft so far, i would pick christensen with pick 24, not fitzpatrick, would rather get a big guy with pick 33, anyway, good draft and it looks like everyone is on the LUKE BALL=ESSENDON bandwagon.
Fitspatrick could be available at 33 though.
I still think ruckman is your weakest link even if Cloke comes to you.
Brogan injury = big problem.
I have made the changes but Ando's draft countdown has agreed with my original stance. Can't disagree with that, if Brogan picks up a long term injury, it'll be a "throw 'em to the wolves" situation.
Still, who knows, one of them may click like a Dean Cox, or at the other end of the scale, play like a Cain Ackland, ugh.
From all that, drafting Vardy still wouldn't help in 2010.
Cheers
Didn't you just answer your own questionWhat do you consider Sydney's deficiencies?
I ask because you have us going for Carlisle with your second first round pick - do you really think that between Goodes, White, Johston and almost definitely Bradshaw our key forward stocks are low?

Ball going to Melbourne and Freo serious about passing Morabito has a domino effect on my phantom draft, the changes have been made.
Where have you heard this.http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/rfnews/ball-likely-to-become-a-demon/2009/11/21/1258220010915.html

Don't worry, misunderstanding!huh? media are reporting that we are taking him
Don't worry, misunderstanding!
"Freo might pass Morabito" = I assume they're looking elsewhere.
I double check after the story in the Sunday Times and find out they are dead keen on Trengove should he slip..........interesting, can't wait for draft day.
EQ's rating is a bit of a concern though.
Change my PD again!
McPhee can play CHB and this will release McPharlin to spend more time forward. Not a bad effort at all Snooperclyde. I like the players you've given us, although I think you have overlooked our need for talls. Currently, our young tall stocks are Clarke (ruckman) and Sibosado/Shepheard (Rookies). With 5 picks in the top 50 we will grab at the very minimum 2 talls and probably anouther with pick 52.
I'm not sure which to refer to because you've said we'll take Rohan and Morabito, but assuming it's Morabito, you've gone for us (after pick 4)...
Taylor
Fyfe
Weedon
McPhee
None of which will fill a spine position. From who is available in your phantom, I think we'd go 48 - Hartigan 49 - Houghton (I doubt both of these players would drop that far but anyway) and probably 52 - Luff (although you didn't get that far).
But a good effort overall, I think you've put a lot of thought into the picks. Well done![]()
