Seriously, who misses out?

I reckon Wheatley is best 22 material & would expect him to play.

If Green is 100% fit then you'd reckon he'd play, although more on reputation than current form.

The last spot is really tough.

Williams has has a good pre-season, which probably should be rewarded (can't believe I said that!).

Rigoni is a proven player who I'd love to see play, his experience could give him the nod.

Thompson played very well in the only Dees pre-season game I saw but apparently his form's gone downhill so.... Sandringham galling?

Moorcroft, I'd love to see Slash get off to a good start but I can't see him playing ahead of those already mentioned. He'll prob kill 'em @ Sandy & earn a chance.

Godfrey's one I've grown to like. Tough & bloody persistant! The perfect tag for Crawford. His disposal looked ok in the Wiz cup, he'd be the one i'd go for just ahead of Gus.

I guess if Yze,Bruce & Johnno don't come up then they might all (apart from Slash) get a run!

Who knows with Melbourne!!!

Wheatley will play, we all know that. There is no way he could miss out. I'm beginning to be a big fan of Simon Godfrey too, he just gives 110% all day long. His disposal is shocking, but he makes up for that with his grunt!

Green will play if he's fit, no doubt about that. I have a feeling he might miss out though, give him another week off, which means Moorcroft will get a chance.

Then I think it's down to Rigoni or Thompson. (Williams won't play, he's the worst of the lot.) Gut feeling says Rigoni will play ahead of Thompson, who will probably kick things off down at Sandy with Lamb and Jolly!

So.... Wheatley, Green/Moorcroft, Godfrey, Rigoni.

I might change my guesses from before.. but I'llhave to think it through ;)

Firstly looking at needs:
We have 1 tagger in J. Macca in the team, and Chell would do the other tagging if need be, so I am guessing Godders will miss.

Wheatley will play because he is the best of the bench, and he has size.

In a forward line that already contains Armstong, Robbo & Heff named as smalls, I think only 1 of Green and Moorcroft will play. So Green if he's fit, Moorcroft if he's not.

After that, then purely skill should decide the final 2 spots out of; Thompson, Williams, Rigoni. My choice; Thompson & Rigoni, though ND seems to love Willow so he may get a go.

Lets see how close I am come game day ;)

I agree that it's either Green or Moorcroft, they're similar enough that we won't need both. From what i've head they've both had interrupted & inconsistent pre-seasons. I reckon Greeny might miss out here based on his attitude at Sandy last week.

Wheatley & Bruce (if he plays, any more word on his hammy?) might be needed to help out the inexperienced defence.

I'd play Godders, although Whelan did a great job on Crawf in round 1 last year. Hawks isolated Crawf & Whelan 2nd time round & Crawf beat him on the lead. I'd rather have Crawford up forward than in the middle though.

I'd go with Gus just ahead of Willo.

Thompson needs to get some consistency at Sandy.

So I'll go...

I/C: Wheatley,Godfrey,Rigoni & Moorcroft

EMG: Green,Williams,Thompson

What a crock of ****. Williams got picked?? Good grief. Slap in the face to Rigoni and Thompson I reckon!

Willo's been in better form. i don't like him either but apparently he's killed em on a half back flack in pre-season. I'd rather Thommo but he's done stuff all since the Tigers game from all reports. Gus has only been a little better.

I'm a sentimental old bastard, i'd love to see Gus out there on Sunday.

Good luck Willo, you'll need it my son. It's now or never for him.

He'll need more than luck in my opinion. He will need to win the brownlow to convince me he can play!

But it will be interesting to see him play across a half back "flack". :D

Oooh, nice! :).

At this rate us loudmouths will be in top form by 2pm Sunday. I like it :D

We are always in top form, and those soft Hawks supporters will not know what to do!

They will probably throw some bleach at us... ;)

Hehe you oughta drop by M10 for a bit on Sunday & meet the Hawk "Rat Pack".

I've never met Hawk supporters like 'em! Filthy, loumouthed, cursing, dinking swines that they are...

... I of course fit right in! And so would you mate :D Oh & they'd probably be more likely to throw beer at you, if they weren't too busy drinking it! ;)

I like the sound of that. I'll take the beer alright, especially if we are winning. It will be well worth it! :D

But I'm quite sure you and me could dish it back...

Well I certainly did allright on my own last year, despite the fluctuations in the score throughout the day.

Would be good for a laugh, I'll have to at least take ya down to meet 'em. Great blokes!
